the music with their guitars.
Sharon Tilbrook led the sing-
ing of the children's hymn
with appropriate hand mo-
tions.
The children laid their
poppies on the table as an act
of remembrance. Mr.
Roberts spoke on the topic,
"What did they do?".
The Dungannon fowl sup-
per will be held on.
November 10 with two sit-
tings.

WI group marks 60th anniversary
The Auburn hall was filled
to capacity last. Tuesday
when the Auburn Women's
Institute (WI) entertained
guests from all the branches
in Huron West on the occa-
sion of their . 60th . anniver-
sary of their founding. The
guests were welcomed by
the president Mrs. Kenneth
McDougall. Mrs. Emerson
Rodger was the pianist.
Mrs. McDougall welcomed
all and the conveners of the
luncheon, Mrs. Donald
Haines and Mrs. Tom Hag-
gitt and other members set
up the luncheon. Mrs.
Eleanor Bradnock and Mrs.
Gordon Chamney were. at
,the door.
After the luncheon,:.
greetings were brought from
the District of Huron West by
president, Mrs. Peter
Chandler. Some members
asked to help out knitting for
the Ministry. of Children's
Services and those who
volunteered were Mrs.
Lawrence. Plaetzer, `Mrs.
Tom . Haggitt, Mrs. Bob
Turner, Mrs. Jim Schneider,
Mrs. Dorothy Grange and
Mrs. Donald Haines. If .

The Auburn Booster Club
.held a -brief meeting at the
home of Mrs. Ross Daer.
Several topics were up for:
discussion starting with the
final preparation for the
Auburn and District Lion's
Club dinner meeting. A
discussion took place on the
prices for their tea table
foods, sandwiches, and muf-
fins for their bake; table
which will be held at the
Christmas Fair November
20th in the Auburn hall. They,
reported all the craft tables
are all sold so there 'will be
an opportunity for everyone.
The club will be very
grateful for any donations of
baking as the proceeds are
for the Ministry of Children's
Services of Huron County for
their Christmas fund: Bak-
ing can be brought to the hall
after 9 a.m. on Saturday
morning November 20th.
The next meeting will be
held on November 16th at the
home of Mrs. Dennis
Bricker. -

Mr. and -Mrs. Donald
Haines were in Toronto last
week for several days.
Residents of Huron Haven
and their friends, - totalling
over 100, attended the Oc-
toberfest supper which
specialized in chili style
wieners, sausage and -beans
at Huron Haven Rec Room
on Saturday, .October 30. The
hall was beautifully
decorated for the occasion
and after the supper was
served from 6 to 8, p.m., judg-
ing and prizes for • the
children's costurllles provid-
ed much entertainment.
Afterward visiting and danc-
ing until midnight was en-
joYe,d by the happy crowd. A
special thank you to Bill
Taraba of Huron Haven who
made this such an enjoyable
evening.

plans are for oneetings-every

activity.
While this is not ae
adventure, they are just get-
ting this year's group
organized. One of the Main
aims of the group at present
is to raise money for various
projects, one of which is to
send two of the members to a
seminar to be held in Toron-
to next month and then they
. hope next year the entire
group will be able to attend a
seminar in a body. Belong-

The Benmiller United
Church U.C.W. meeting was
helfl at the church, Wednes-
day, November 3 at 2 p.m.
with 12 members attending
and the Irish Unit in charge,
Mrs. Phyllis Feagan
presided and opened the
meeting with two readings,
"The Creator and the
Lobster" and "What We
Are".
Members joined in singing
the hymn, "All the Way my
Saviour Leads Me" with
Mrs. Adelaide Feagan as
' pianist.
Mrs. Joan MacPhee read
the scripture from Psalm
136. Mrs. Florence Maskell
gave two readings, "We are
Thankful for the Little
Things" and "Thoughtful
People are Thankful Peo-
ple'.
The three units gave their
reports and the treasurer,
of last . meeting. Mrs.
Florence Maskell gave the
report on the cards sent and
sick members remembered.
Mrs. Hazel McMichael at-
tended the ' West ' Huron
Regional Rally recently and
gave a splendid report, men-
tioning , there - were con-
siderable inspirational talks
and readings in the pro-
gram. She also mentioned a
special thank you to the
musical item the'group sup-
plied ( Mrs. Williams sang a
solo 'with - Mrs. Adelaide
Feagan as accompanist ).
The offering was received\
by Mrs. Phyllis Feagan and
dedicated with the members
repeating the Lord's Prayer.
In the business discussion,
Mrs. Mavis Fisher was .ap-
pointed to look after the
Christmas plants for the
shut-ins. Plans were started
in regard to the annual Sun-
day School supper, which
will be announced later.
The elected officers of 1982
consented to stand for next
term and were then installed
for the 1983 term.
Plans were made to panel
the church basement walls
in the near future.
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah Benediction and a
social half hour was enjoyed
by all with lunch served by
the Irish Unit.

Mr. and -Mrs. Donald
Haines were in Toronto last
week for several days.
Residents of Huron Haven
and their friends, - totalling
over 100, attended the Oc-
toberfest supper which
specialized in chili style
wieners, sausage and -beans
at Huron Haven Rec Room
on Saturday, .October 30. The
hall was beautifully
decorated for the occasion
and after the supper was
served from 6 to 8, p.m., judg-
ing and prizes for • the
children's costurllles provid-
ed much entertainment.
Afterward visiting and danc-
ing until midnight was en-
joYe,d by the happy crowd. A
special thank you to Bill
Taraba of Huron Haven who
made this such an enjoyable
evening.

Mrs. Josephine Meyer and
son John of Sarnia, formerly
of Colborne, visited friends
in Goderich last Thursday.
Mrs. Jim (Hazel) Feagan
has been living in Goderich
for quite some time and is
now in..Huronview and would
welcome visitors from Col-
borne and Goderich.
Mrs. Ralph ( Margaret )
Jewell has taken up
residence in Goderich at the
present time.
The community is sorry to
report Mrs. Larry Harrison
of Saltford is a patient in
University Hospital and her
many friends wish her a
speedy recovery.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Black,
Meneset Park, on the birth of
a baby boy, Jeffrey William,
in St. Joseph's Hospital. Lon-

formed a youth group and
plans are for oneetings-every
.week __with . two .....of _the
meetings each month being
activity.
While this is not ae
adventure, they are just get-
ting this year's group
organized. One of the Main
aims of the group at present
is to raise money for various
projects, one of which is to
send two of the members to a
seminar to be held in Toron-
to next month and then they
. hope next year the entire
group will be able to attend a
seminar in a body. Belong-
ing to a group such as this

teen dance to be held in the.
Agricultural Hall, Dungan-
non, Friday, November 12.

support the teenagers.
Benmiller U.C.W.
The Benmiller United
Church U.C.W. meeting was
helfl at the church, Wednes-
day, November 3 at 2 p.m.
with 12 members attending
and the Irish Unit in charge,
Mrs. Phyllis Feagan
presided and opened the
meeting with two readings,
"The Creator and the
Lobster" and "What We
Are".
Members joined in singing
the hymn, "All the Way my
Saviour Leads Me" with
Mrs. Adelaide Feagan as
' pianist.
Mrs. Joan MacPhee read
the scripture from Psalm
136. Mrs. Florence Maskell
gave two readings, "We are
Thankful for the Little
Things" and "Thoughtful
People are Thankful Peo-
ple'.
The three units gave their
reports and the treasurer,
of last . meeting. Mrs.
Florence Maskell gave the
report on the cards sent and
sick members remembered.
Mrs. Hazel McMichael at-
tended the ' West ' Huron
Regional Rally recently and
gave a splendid report, men-
tioning , there - were con-
siderable inspirational talks
and readings in the pro-
gram. She also mentioned a
special thank you to the
musical item the'group sup-
plied ( Mrs. Williams sang a
solo 'with - Mrs. Adelaide
Feagan as accompanist ).
The offering was received\
by Mrs. Phyllis Feagan and
dedicated with the members
repeating the Lord's Prayer.
In the business discussion,
Mrs. Mavis Fisher was .ap-
pointed to look after the
Christmas plants for the
shut-ins. Plans were started
in regard to the annual Sun-
day School supper, which
will be announced later.
The elected officers of 1982
consented to stand for next
term and were then installed
for the 1983 term.
Plans were made to panel
the church basement walls
in the near future.
The meeting closed with the
Mizpah Benediction and a
social half hour was enjoyed
by all with lunch served by
the Irish Unit.
