Fall fashions long and le
The fashion look for Fall
'82 is long, lean and pared
down, according to
Rosemary Davison, owner of
the Clothes Closet .in
Goderich.
Mrs. Davison was com-
mentator at a show featuring
fashions from the Clothes
Closet last Wednesday
evening at Victoria school.
The show was a fund-raiser
sponsored by the Blue Water
Chapter No. 284, Order of the
Eastern Star and attracted a
large audience from the
area.
Nine local women, ranging
in size from six to 16,
modelled everything from
winter coats and wool
, walking shorts to housecoats
and elegant gowns. •
One segment at the
beginning of the show was on
the black and white tuxedo
junction look which is very
vogue this year.
Mix and match co-
ordinates throughout the
show featured color com-
binations of gray and
burgundy, loden green and
red, loden' green and gold,
and red and winter white.
Plum dust is a popular new
color this fall as well.
Princess Diana has made
her mark. Frills are in again
and it's all part of the
traditional Victorian look—
practical but stylish, Mrs.
Davison told the audience.
Sleeves and shoulders both
feature a lot of detail with
puffs, frills and cuffs.
Wide -wale corduroy was
featured as a popular fabric-
-casual and practical yet
dressy enough too. The ever -
popular blazer is still around
and walling shorts, which

were made popular this past
spring and summer, have
now been converted into fall
fashion -wear by using lined
wool material and matching
them up with knee socks.
The .prairie -look, con-
sisting of frilly plaid dresses
and matching blouses and
skirts in mid-calf length, was
briefly featured in the show.
A segment on winter coats
showed that the emphasis is
on . warmth. Leg warmers
will also be popular this fall
and winter.
During an intermission in
the show, the Craigellen
Singers performed several
numbers unr the direction
of .Ila Wors 1. Door prizes
were won b Dianne Steep,
Joyce Riley, Win Ferris and
Isobel Gilby. Following the
show, .coffee and squares
were ejoyed.
