Ten teams battle for first in mixed bowling league
The Wednesday night
mixed bowling league began
their 1982-83 season with 10
teams battling for first
position.
Denise Aubut led the ladies
scoring for the Can-
dlelighters with a high single
of 173 and a high triple of 413
while Steve Allen led the
mens with 235 and 618 points
respectively.
Roelie Leggatt and Helen
F,,:. Dickson, -shared the ladies
spotlight for the Head
spinners. Leggatt ac-
cumulated 206 points to take
the ladies high single and
Dickson's 535 points helped
her take the high triple.
The Headspinners' Mel
Dickson walked , away with
both the mens high single,
199 and the high triple, 566.
Lori Connolly and her
husband, Murray, managed
to capture the highest points
for the Pitts. Lori scored 244
for the high single and 606 for
the high triple. Murray
bowled a 211 single and a 525
triple.
Cindy Bazinet took both
the ladies high single, 262
and triple, 561, for the Can
Do's. Brian Bazinet took the

Can Do's mens high single
with a score of 223 while
Kevin Meriam scored 572
points to take the high triple.
Sheila Brownlee and John
Allen. were the star bowlers
for the Park Theatre
Mustangs. Brownlee bowled
207 for the ladies high single
and 520 for the triple. Allen
accumulated 253 and 627
points to take the mens
division.
Both of the ladies scoring
titles for . the Beach Bums
went to Julie Eickmeyer who
bowled 165 for the high
single. Tom Thompson
accumulated 240 ponts for
the high single and 671 points
for the triple.
The Falcons', Helen
Hutchings bowled an ex-
ceptional game as did one of
her team mates, Sonny
Moore. Hutchings' high
single score was 275 while
her high triple was 703.
Moore attained 262 points for
the high single and 682 for
'the triple.
Bonnie Erb was the ladies
top scorer for the Lowly
Rollers. Her high single
score was 243 and her triple
score was 610.
Rob Right managed to
capture both the mens titles
for the Lowly Rollers with a
score of 213 for the high
single and 587 for the triple.
Noris Carrick and her
husband Bruce, were easily
able to live up to their team's
name. For the Knock -Outs,
Noris scored 214 for the
single title and 505 for the
triple. Bruce bowled a 246
single and a 577 triple.
Both of the ladies high
scores for the Fizz Mits went
to Auleen Therault who
accumulated 200 points for
the single and 560 for the
triple. Dick Eisler took both
of the mens titles with 216 for
the single and 565 for the
single.
To date the team points
are as follows; Lowly
Rollers 25, Can Do's 19,
Falcons 18, Park Theatre
Mustangs 18, Beach Bums
17, Candlelighters 17,
Headspinners 17, The Pitts
17, Fizz Mits 16 and the
Knock -Outs 4.
Recreation hockey league
games get underway
With two and a half
minutes remaining in the
third period last Wednesday
night, Rick Rawson of the
Bedford Flyers got a nice
set-up pass from Paul Cor-
riveau to give the Flyers a 2-
1 win over Sunset.
In other Goderich Recrea-
tional Hockey League action
al
during the week,. O'Briens
defeated Clere-Vu with a 4-3
score Thursday night and
then went on to trounce
Hodges 9-1 Sunday night
with Dan Duncan leading the
offensive blitz by scoring
four goals. Murray Hender-
son was Hodges' lone
marker.
Phil Petrie scored early in
the first period to get the
winner for Garb and Gear as
they defeated Ultramar 2-0
Sunday night.
Bill Lewis and Mike La-
paine scored two goals each
as Green Machine handed
Clere-Vu their second
straight loss 4-0 Sunday
night.

Goderich Bridge scores
The Goderich Bridge Club
had nine tables for a Mitchell
game on October 12. The
average score was 941/2.
Evelyn Galbraith and
Dawna Sproule were first
East-West and first overall
with 128; second were
Joanne Duckworth and Lee
Ryan with 109; third were Jo
Berry and Edna Overholt
with 102; and fourth were
Frank and Jim Donnelly
with 97.
Michelle Hansen and
Eveleen McDonagh led
North-South with 1161;
second were Jean Cook and
Verna Worthy with 99; third
were Marg Hall and P.K.
Venki with 98; and fourth
were Auleen Curry and
Louise Hetherington with 96.
ovices win first game 4-2
The Goderich Garb 'n Gear Novice team
started off their season in a winning way
Sunday by defeating the Exeter Novices 4-
2 in Exeter.
Sam Hosack scored two unassisted goals
and Chad Papple scored one unassisted
goal in the first' period to put Goderich
ahead 3-0.
The second period was scoreless. In the
third period, Exeter scored two goals and
Mark Philips scored one unassisted goal
for Goderich.
