Alec Scott, Ausable- Bayfield Conservation Authority, said the idea and the equipment came from Holland. In that country, which is criss-crossed with innumerable dikes and drains, the land along the banks is grassed and kept clear of debris. Farmers there do a routine Inain- tenance check yearly on the drains. The arm keeps the work relatively easy. The arm which is leased from a Dutch firm, by the Thames • committee could make major. municipal dram eleanouts a thing of the past if implemented and used on a yearly basis. Red Cross HIGHWAY M.O.T.
