At the GDCI commencement
on September. 24, awards
were presented to Cindy
Todgham; History 150
(Grade 9) and to Teresa
Cannon, History, 250 (Grade
10).
Mrs. Hunter also read a
letter from Jang Choon• Sim,
the chapter's adopted
Korean child.
The chapter will again
purchase four subscription
tickets for the London
Symphony concerts to be
used by\ GDCI music
students.
Two new members were
welcomed into the chapter,
Mrs. Halina Grodecki and
Mrs. Ruth Kelly.
A ,wreath will be pur-
chased by the chapter for
placement at the Cenotaph
on November 11, Armistice
Day.
The chapter received an
invitation from the Sarah
Hale Chapter in Clinton to
attend their 10th anniversary
dinner in November..
Interested members are to
telephone the Regent before
October 31.
An executive meeting will
be held on Tuesday, October
26 at 10 a.m. at the home of
the Regent.
Squares
dance
Goderich Square Dancing
Cub presidents Don and Irla
Stewart extended a warm
welcome to new members
and old on October 5; the
opening night of the 1982-83
square dancing season for
the club.
The Goderich Squares will
once again function as a
GDCI Night School course
using the Victoria Public
School auditorium each
Tuesday evening from 8 to
10•:30 p.m. The fees for the 20
week course are $40 per
person. Glen Patterson will
be the caller.
A schedule of the year's
dancing was given to the
members on opening night.
The Goderich Squares are
part of the Southwestern
Ontario Square Dancing
Association. (SWOSDA
which is part of the
• American Square Dance
Society. The American
Square Dance Society

movements of square
dancing, and the various
___,_ieve°is- in dancing. -New
members receive these
handbooks when they join
the club.
SWOSDA .publishes a
mon'thry bulletin called The
Bugle. It advertises events in
Ontario clubs. Any member
can subscribe for $5 per
year.
Square dancing is good
fun, good fellowship and
good exercise. Perhaps you
would like to join the
Goderich Squares'' New
members are welcome ,
during the month of October.
