Knox Church was founded in 1835 and is beginning to prepare for its sesquicen- tennial in 1985. At the Morning Diet as Guest Minister will be The Reverend Dennis Wilson Clarke, B.A., B.D., of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sarnia. Irk 1969 Mr. Clarke migrated to, Canada from Ulster to becme minister at Atwood, Ontario. Prior to his coming to Canada, he graduated from Queen's University, Belfast in 1955 with a B.A. degree and from Assembly's College, Belfast in 1958, taking his B.D. degree in 1959. He was or- Ftt'v. Wilson dained in 1960 and became minister of Maghera rate anniversary service Presbyterian Church in Londonderry where he remained for 10 ,rears. In 1976 Mr. Clarke was called to St. Andrew's, Sarnia. He is married to the former Eileen Eakin of Carrickmacross, a qualified pharmacist. They have two daughters and a son. At 7:30 p.m. at Knox, a musical presentation will be given through the co- operation of the choirs of Knox, Stratford and Knox, Goderich. Lorne H. Dotterer, Director of Praise, Knox, G6derich, will co-operate with John Angus Sinclair, Director of Praise, Knox, Stratford, in the direction of the joint -choirs. A duet will be presented by Jane Love - and Lee McCallum. There will be one or two organ selections. Couple wed in Blyth Church Flowers and candelabras decorated the Christian Reformed Church in Blyth on Friday, August 27 for the wedding of Tracy Elizabeth Tucsok and Peter Edward Hamming. The bride is the daughter of Mr: and Mrs. Frank Tucsok of Alberta and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kornelis Hamming of Auburn. The . Reverend Adrian Dieleman officiated at the double -ring ceremony. Mrs. Ruth Dieleman was the organist. Soloist Deb Sier- tsema of Blyth sang The Wedding Prayer doping the signing of the register. The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She wore a floor -length white. gown with train, l ng.sleeves and a high neckliith tiny pearls on the front. To complete .her ensemble, the bride wore a three-quarter length veil and carried a cascade bouquet. Debbie Daer of Goderich, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Chris 'Kaufman r of Stratford, friend of the bride; Pat Loschuk. of Calgary, sister of the bride; and Anita Hamming of. Auburn, sister of the groom. They worefloor-length baby. blue 'colored dresses designed by the bride featuring double spaghetti straps, blouson tops tied at the waist and matching jackets trimmed with daisy patterned lace. They also , wore flowers in their hair and carried bouquets. Flower girl was Amanda Mannering of Goderich, friend of the bride. She wore , a floor -length dress of the same material as the bridesmaids' trimmed with lace around the bottom and the sleeves. She wore flowers in her hair the same as the bridesmaids and carried the same flowers as the bride but in a basket. Best man was Steve. Siertsema of Blyth, friend of Mr. and M'rs. Peter Edward (lamming the groom. Guests were ushered into the church by Ri .hard and Keith Hamming of Auburn, brothers of the groom and Gord Tucsok of Grand Prairie, Alberta, brother of the bride. Ringbearer was Harry De Jong, cousin of the groom. Following the wedding` ceremony, a reception was held in the Blyth Community Centre where Mike Siert- sema of Blyth, a friend of the bride and groom, acted as m'lster of ceremonies. After a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Edward Hamming took up residence in Kin- burn. Couple residing in London following honeymoon Dwight Isaac and Teri Van Dorigen, both of London, were married in St. John the Devine Church, London on October 2 at 3 p.m. The groom is the son of Mrs. Lucille Isaac of Goderich and the bride is the M,r. and Mrs. Dwight Isaac (Photo by Frank Phillips) f 1 daughter of Anthony Van Dongen of Clinton and Norma Crockett of Ingersoll, Father Jim Mockler of- ficiated at the double -ring ceremony. Music was provided by a guitarist and flutist. Maid of honor was Barb Hesk of London. Flower girl was Meagan Crockett of , Ingersoll. Best man was Gary Green of Pembroke and guests were ushered into the church by Sean Van Dongen of Clinton. Ringbearer was Jason Crockett of Ingersoll. Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at Goderich Township Hall Guests were present from Clinton, Goderich, London-, Windsor and- Parry - Sound:.., v After a wed'ding trip to points in Eastern Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Isaac took up residence in London. Prior to the service, the Women of Knox will host the choirs at a dinner. Prior to the morning service, the Kirk Session is sponsoring an Anniversary Breakfast from 9 until 10 a.m., prepared by the men under°Tony Hyde's direction and hosted by Jim Coulter and Bud Jerry. The guest minister, the Reverend Christian teachers to attend. convention Teachers from the Clinton and District Christian School will be joining over 500 Christian educators from all areas of Ontario (as well as a, smaller number from Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and Quebec) to attend the annual Ontario Christian School Teachers' Association (OCSTA) convention in Hamilton October 21 and 22. Using the theme, "Chang- ing World, Changeless Christ", the convention will challenge Christian teachers to continue their task of teaching every subject from a distinctively Christian framework. This challenge. will come via special keynote speakers and workshop sessions. Dr. Bernard Zylstra, Prin- cipal of the Institute for Christian Studiesin Toronto. will address the delegates in one of the major addresses. Dr. Zylstra is well known for his contributions toward an integration of Christian philosophical thought' and different areas 'of human ac-:. tivity in the fields of educa- tion, labour and politics. A wide' var►ety of workshops-willbe offered in most --subject` areas .and at . . most grade levels. These sessions give "opportunity for interaction and sharing of in- sights in turriculun:i studies. The Ontario Christian School Teachers' Associa- tion has grown from a membership of 25 in 1954 to its current membership of approximately 500.%1 The OCSTA members serve as teachers in over 65, schools belonging . to the Ontario Alliance .of Christian Schools. The Alliance is the largest single group of schools in Ontario' outside the public and separate school system. Anglicans appoint first woman The first woman member of the Diocese of Huron to receive an appointment in the National Office, Anglican Church of Canada, Toronto, is Mrs. Janet Parker of London. She becomes Development Education Secretary for the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, effec- tive November 15, 1982 and succeeds Reverend Carl Ma- jor who has returned to parish life in Newfoundland. .Eminently qualified for her new appointment, Mrs. Parker is a graduate of Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick, and has served for several years as Development Education Co-ordinator, Diocese of Huron. A member of Bishop Cronyn church in London, she was diocesan represen- tative to the Ontario Section, Primate's World Relief and Development Fund 'and. chairperson of the diocesan Development Education Task Force with training programs for parish leaders.
