Evertt Mcllwain chaired the meeting and welcomed everyone. Charlotte Norman played the piano for the opening exercises and read the minutes of the last meeting. Frank Yeo presented the treasurer's report. Blanche Deeves gave the sick and visiting report. At the next meeting, Alice Porter and Iona Blake are in charge of lunch and en- tertainment. Irene Cudmore reported that the first 200 spoons are sold and a motion was made to order 200 more. John Dunes adjourned the meeting. Frank Yeo then introduced Douglas Yeo who showed slides onhis recent ®1®naho leavers. trip to China. He had a great display of artifacts which he brough back with him as well. Evertt Mcllwain thanked Douglas for his presentation. Flowers in the church were placed it memory of the late John Wyatt. The theme of Reverend Betchel's sermon was Thanksgiving. The junior choir sang for the large congregation and Don Harris and Bill -Norman received the offering. Social News. The community wishes to extend sympathy to the families of the late John Wyatt and to Mr. and Mrs. Liebold on the loss of her mother, Mrs. Leppington. Visiting Grandma Cud - more this past holiday weekend were Christopher and Margo Cudmore along with mom and, dad of Ottawa. Marks 90th birthday Dave. Elliott celebrated his 90th birthday on September 18 with friends and relatives at the home of his daughter and- son-in-law, Lily and Charlie Hart. Mr. Elliott has been a resi- dent at Huronview for 104 years and is in good health. He received a plaque from Opposition :Leader Joe -Clark. and from Premier. Bill Davis along with .other cards, can- dy and cigars. He loves to smoke at least two cigars a day. Guests came from Bluevale, Brussels, Gdderich Township and the Goderich area to help him celebrate. Robot at Bruce Technicians at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station "A" successfully Maneuvered a remote con- trolled robot near the north fuelling machine on Friday, October 1. Working from a distance of 30 feet, behind shielding walls and watching .televi- sion:monitors, the operators guided . the robot's arm to. pick up and deposit into lead lined flasks, five pieces of a pencil from a fuel bundle damaged on September 19. The robot was then able to lift two small pieces of fuel out of the fuelling machine snout and another small - piece of fuel from the fkror. Two other undamaged fuel bundles were removed from the fuelling machine and deposited into the storage bay. According to Technical Manager John Young, the next step is to de- contaminate the fuelling machine head and associated trolley mechanicsm. The .bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Vogt of Kingsbridge and the • groom is the son of Mr. and. Mrs: Edmund L. Burke of Tampa, Florida. The Reverend Father Theophilus Gregori of- ficiated at the double -ring ceremony. Traditional wedding music was played by the church organist. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white gown of milady, with a high cuff and bridal' point. Her cathedral length train featured crystal pleating and double flounce and her matching headpiece and fingertip veil featured Venetian lace throughout. Maid of honor was Julie Vogt of St. Clair • Shores, sister of the bride. She wore an orchid chiffon cocktail dress with.handkerchief hem and lace jacket and carried a colonial bouquet of lilac .and white daisies, 'white mini carnations and baby's breath. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Rose Sandy of Goderich and Jean and Elizabeth Vogt both of Kingsbridge, all sisters of the bride. They were gowned the same as the maid of thonor and car^ied the same bouquets. Clemens, Michigan. - Prior to her wedding, the bride was feted at a shower given by Aunt Rose Zremski, Stephanie Vogt, Rose Sandy, Julie, Jean' and Liz Vogt; at a luncheon at the Pon- chartrain Hotel in Detroit given by friends from work and at a supper given by friends.
