For instance, Revelation 1, verses 1 to 3, read: "This book is the record of the events that Jesus Christ revealed. God gave him this revelation in order to show to his servants what must hap- pen very soon. Christ made these things known to his stakant John by sending his and to him, and John has told all that he has seen. This is his report concerning the message from God and the truth revealed by Jesus Christ." Indicating that God and Jesus Christ are two separate and distinct in- dividuals. Paul says at First Corin- thians 1:30: "God has brought you into union with Christ Jesus, and God has made Christ to be our wisdom. By him we are put right with God.." In full har- mony with this, Proverbs 8 speaks of Wisdom ( v.1) : "The LORD created me first of all; the first of his works, long ago. I was made at the very beginning before the world began, ... before the oceans ..."before God made the fields. I was there when he set the sky in place ... I was there when he laid the earth's foundations, I was beside him like an architect. I was daily his source of joy, always happy in 'his presence -, happy with the world and pleased wit, the human race." ( Prov. 8: 22- 31). Would this not indicate.' that Jesus, the Christ, was a created individual, the se- cond greatest Personage of the universe? Paul's letter to th'e Colossians states: "Christ is the visible likeness of the invisible God. He is the first-born Son, superior to •al1 created things. For through him God created everything ... He is the' first-born Son." (Colos- sians 1: 15-18). Jesus' own testimony is: "The living Father sent me, and because of him I live also." (John 6:57) "I told "you that no one can come to me unless the Father makes it possible for hirn to do so." (John 6:65). "The one who honors me is my, Father - the very one you say is your God. You have. never known hirn, but I know him." (John 8:54,55). "The Father loves me because I am willing to give up my life, in order that I may receive it back again. No one takes my life away from me. I give it up of my own free will. I have the right to give it up, and I have the right to take it back. This is'what my Father has com- manded me to do." (John 10:17,18). In instructing his disciples how to pray, Jesus made of first importance his Father's .name and kingdom: "Our Father in heaven: May your holy name be honored; may your kingdom come; may your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.". ,( Matthew 6:9,10). Is it 'honoring' the name of Almighty God to remove that name from the text of his own Word? and substituting a title which, ac- • cording to Cruden's Concor- dance could be "used for ANY ONE whom it was desired to address diferen- tially."? L TTERS In the Good News Bible, a footnote on page 68 reads as follows: "THE LORD, see 3:14. Where the Hebrew text has Yahweh, traditionally translated Jehovah, this translation employs. LORD with capital letters, follow- ing a usage which is widespread in English ver- sions." Contrast this 'usage' with Jesus' own words: "I have made your name known to those you gave me out of the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them, to me." ( John 17:6). THE KINGDOM: At times the term "kingdom" is ap- plied to the one in the Scrip- tures, Christ, who has the rank, quality, attributes and authority of a king. ie. "From that time Jesus began to preach his message: "Turn away from your sins, because the Kingdom of heaven is near." ( Matthew 4:17) "Kingdom" is also used to refer to the realm over which the Kingdom government exer- cises control. "Then the end will come; Christ will over- come all spiritual rulers, Korean students seek pen pals through teacher Dear Editor, It is my great pleasure to write to you. I hope you will be pleased to accept my appeal regarding pen pals. I am an English teacher in a noted high school in Pusan, Korea. This school} has bout 2,500 students of both sexes. I am eagerly seeking students who would like to correspond with our students. There are many Korean students who want to exchange letters and friendship with foreign pen friends and they .frequently request me to try to arrange an exchange of addresses of Canadian students. Throughout my foreign language teaching career, I notice this not only helps their English and emotional life but also expands their 'knowledge of foreign lands. This would also promote world-wide friendship and Museum.. • from page 1 Museum? Hardly! Only if emotion rules the day ... This is one time when "Let's get Goderich!" is a foolish game to play. I feel it is necessary to publish this wish among the boys and girls of the world, therefore, I courteously request you to run this letter' in your valuable paper. The information I need'is: student's name, address, sex, age. hobbies anda picture if possible. I hope to receive many letters from your readers, wishing to correspond with our students. I will appreciate it very much if you let me have the chance to do this for my students. This would be a watm and thoughtful favor. Sincerely yours, Mr. Yang MooSeok, P.O. Box 339, Pusan 600, KOREA. Maybe it's time you jumped into something. more demanding than a car pool. 41110 naenaparnoni authorities and powers, and will hand over the Kingdom to God the Father. For Christ must rule until God defeats all enemies and puts them under his feet. The last enemy to be defeated will be death. For the Scripture says, "God will put all things under his feet." It is clear, of course, that the words "all things" do not include God himself, who puts all things under Christ. But when all things have been placed under Christ's rule, then he himself, the Son, will place himself under God, who placed all things under him; and God will rule completely over all." (1 Corinthians 15: 24-28). What, then, must one con- clude? That the "Christiani- ty" that is operating today under that designation is not the Christianity that was founded by Christ Jesus. I fervently wish that another conclusion could be arrived at, but how? Sincerely yours, C.F. Barney Vanastra would be good for museum Dear Editor, Let's think about our . Huron County Pioneer Museum. Ah, yes now! The former Clinton Radar Station lies adjacent to the east of Highway 4, approx- imately two miles south of Clinton, at the crossroads of Highway 4 and 8, known as the Hub of Huron. In this county we have the thriving town of Exeter, the exciting theatre town of Blyth with its ownfine in- dustries, and as far north to Wingham, the CKNX-TV town, and many more in- teresting and vital com- munities. We are bordered east and west by the finest farmland in Canada. Good motels, restaurants and ac- commodations are found generously spread throughout the area. ilsanastra is a small village -like community that offers the 'services of an ex- cellent recreation centre, child daycare, a public school with an extension of Conestoga . College, a new curling rink, a community church, Heather Gardens and a large arena used by Seaforth last year while building.their own arena. The residential area con- tinues to assert itself as a comfortable friendly place to live. We have paved streets and walk ways, street lights, three play parks, good Clinton water, sewage service and cable TV if so desired. Through hard work and dedication, 'several businesses prevail; despite gallant efforts, others .have KISS 5-14 LBS. GOODBYE. You could lose 5 to 14 lbs. in the next 2 weeks. From Highway 4 ,can be seen a large three wing, three storey red brick building. This building with a new roof and some general refurbishing could provide a fine home for Huron County Pioneer Museum. It would provide plenty of room for excellent displays, both in- doors and outdoors and spacious visitor parking. As with every project there would be a cost involv- ed. Money would be well spent to create jobs, pro- viding the dignity of a pay cheque in place of charitable handouts. This project could result in the revitalization of the, area. The artifacts in the museum come from all over the county. A bedspread,,. handmade by my husband's ` great aunt comes to mind,. along with other contribu- tions of family and friends. Let's ponder some of the things we . cherish; an old hand corn planter, a measur- ing stick to calculate the board feet of lumber in a log, a funny three -footed iron -us- ed for family shoe repair, a jagged hay knife, a cast iron tea kettle from the Orient, beautiful china biscuit jars, lovely glass and silver pieces and so on. I sincerely hope I have stirred your memories and sparked an awareness in the future of the Huron County Pioneer Museum. Yours truly, Helen C. Rathwell, 4 Regina Street, Vanastra.
