News from
Huronview
Reverend Wittick was in
charge of Sunday morning
worship held in the new
Huronview auditorium. We
were pleased to have his
family with us .,again and
they were guests of Betty
Scratch for lunch. The con.
gregation--was. appreciative.....
of Mrs. Wittick's solos.
Next Sunday Reverend
Wittick will preach his
farewell sermon and he will
be missed by all of us.
Beginning the fust Sunday
in September our .new
minister will be Reverend
Norman Pick of Ontario
Street United Church; . Clin-

ton. We are looking forward
to Mr. Pick being with us.
Monday afternoon the
Resident's Council held a
successful meeting. Several
items of business were
discussed and problems
solved. Plans are being.
made, for theiall activities.
The resident's directory has
arrived and we are very pro
ud of this a gift from the
Huronview Women's Aux-
iliary. When all the names
have been set in order the
directory will be placed in
the main entrance. We are
also appreciative of the wall
hanging on main floor op-
posite the elevator. Thanks
to Betty Scratch for this at-
tractive gift. In the new
auditorium on the left wall
hangs a beautiful painting of
Blue Boy left to Huronview
by the late Edith Highley: On
the front wall hangs the
Huron County Crest and
Coat of Arms. This par-
ticular piece of art has been
sometime in the snaking and
we thank everyone who had
a part in completing this
handsome addition.
Tuesday afternoon Special
Care residents enjoyed the
piano music played by Elsie
Henderson and
refreshments were served.
Van rides took up a great
part of Wednesday and
many of the residents took
advantage of this to get out
in the sun and fresh air and
enjoy the country side.
Bible Study was held in the
chapel Thursday afternoon
with Mrs. S. Prouty in
charge of the service.
Margaret McQueen presided
at the organ. Milford Prouty
gave the scripture reading
and Mrs. Prouty led in
prayer. Elmer Desjardine
sang a solo and a trio com-
posed of Mr. and Mrs. Des-
jardine and Mrs. Prouty
sang with everyone in the
group joining in. Mrs. Des-
jardine gave the message.
Folks from Ground Centre
and Ground North had their
barbecue this week. Emily
Williams on . everyones
behalf proposed a toast of
thanks to the excellent staff
for thepregaration and serv-
ing this delicious and hearty
meal. Janet Zapfe, Margaret
McQueen, Elsie Henderson,
and Mary Ross spent Friday„
afternoon at Bluewater ,Cents
. tre "viewing antiques, arts
and crafts.
A warm welcome is ex-
tended to Howard Clark of
Londesboro who is visiting
with us on vacation care and
Mrs. Elms McFarine of
Auburn who is now irking
her'home at Huronview.
We extend sympathy to the
families of the late Mrs.
Grace VanLoo, Miss
Florence Laidlaw and Miss
Annie McKinnon,. These
ladieS all residents of Huron -
view died this week.
