Gulf Oil Ltd. for a 10 day exchange trip between the two communities. Kretschmer arrived
in Goderich August 3 and is enjoying the cultural exchange. The pair will be off to Calgary
on August 13.

over a bonfire. The girls had.

A Day School has been
operating all summer at
Point Clark,. sponsored by
the recreation committee of
Huron Township . Children
from ages four to 10 years
attend, The supervisor is
Dawns Rutlege, and her
assistants are Olie Liddle and

held Tuesday, August 10 with

groom. These were made by
Isabel. Harris. The brides'
chair was decorated in white
with a carrousel made up of
several shades ,of' mauve,
cupids, hearts.. and white
wedding bells twirling above
her chair.
Mrs. Ray Ducharme read
a poem which she composed
in relation to several in-
cidents during Mary Jean's
childhood. Mrs. Arlie
Lockhart conducted a card
game which mixed the
guests up both mentally and
physically. The winners
were Marjorie Ridder and
Eunice Batkin. The gifts
were carried in by Becky.
Betties, Janice Brand, Kelly
Carter, Jan Ducharme, and
Lynne Ducharme. The bride
was assisted in opening her
gifts by Beverely Bettles and
Eunice Batkin.
Mary Jean thanked her
'hostess. and assistants and
invited everyone to the open
house to be held in honor at
her Mother and Fathers
home on August ,15 both
afternoon and evening.
Two young people from
Holmesville were married
on the weekend. Theresa
Duff forrnerly of HoLnesville
and Lloyd Jantzi of
Holmesville were married in
Mitchell and Pat Harris and
Thomas Costello were mar-
ried on Saturday in

the Midgets. Last but not
least Holmesville Store Slo-
pitch team will be playing
against Auburn 'i"hursday,
August 12, 9 p.m. at
Holmesville.
The Bantam girls held a
tournament on Saturday,and
Colborne beat Stanley A for
the championship. In the
consolation match Goderich
defeated Clinton. In the first
series of games Stanley A
beat Goderich Township.
Stanley B beat Clinton and
Colborne beat Goderich.

The Enterprising Seniors
are invited to a Pork Chop
Barbecue at the Dungannon
Agricultural Hall, August 15
The menu will•be Pork Chops
baked potatoes, cabbage
salad, relish trays, rolls -
.coffee and ice cream..
The Barbecue will be held
from 4:30 to 7:30 and the cost
for adults is $5.50, each,
children 6-12 $3 and, pre-
schoolers arefree.
The Kinburrn Foresters
are doing the cooking. Few

Following the barbecue, a
ball .gave between Dungan-
non and Nile followed by a.
variety concert with - the
evening ending in the crown-
ing of Miss Dungannon. •
ACWW presidents speaks

Over 300 women and men
from southwestern Ontario
gathered last Sunday at the
St. Marys Community
Centre to hear Mrs. Ziny
Westebring-Muller of the
Netherlands, president of the
Associated Country of the
World (ACWW), (the world
association to . which all
Women's' Institutes belong).
This reception was spon-
sored by the London Con-
vention Area and Huron -
South ladies.
Belgrave, Auburn and
Dungannon made and served
tea.
An informative message
was given by this lady whe is
president over 9 million
around the world. On the
projects that all W.I.
members support such as
.hild care projects, better
nygiene, providing
agriculture tools to give
assistance, as well as sewing
machines and teaching peo-
ple in Third World countries
how to use them to clothe
their families. She asked for
continued support from the
people of Canada to whom
she said her country owes so
much for saving their
children.
Mrs. Gordon Papple' of
Seaforth,president of„ the
Lindonare_e., was chairman
for the afternoon. The
program was turned over to
Mrs. Janet Heipleh of
Springfield, president, of the_..
Federation of Women's
Institutes of Ontario. She
spoke of the project Pennies
for Friendship, and en-
couraged everyone to put in
the silver money or folding to
support ACWW projects.
A skit on Making Cook-
books for the Plowing Match
was put on by Granton W.I.
members and the St. Marys
Friendship Centre choir of
over 30 members gave' a
musical play, From Sea to
Sea, in which each province
played an important part
joining the Dominion of
Canada in song and speech.
On Thursday, Mrs.
Westerbri_ng will be guest
speaker at Toronto to
celebrate the 85th an-
niversary of the founding of
the Women's Institute. in
which 1700 women in Ontario
are to be guests at a dinner in
the Constellation Hotel.
Interest shown in Christian .Club
Interest has been
generated for a Christian
Women's Club to be started
in the Goderich area. There
were approximately 24
ladies who met July 28 with
the two National Represen-
tatives of the organization,
Bonnilee Ashley and Joan
Collins, to discuss the
possibilities and, give infor-
mative information regar-
ding the organization.
An introductory coffee will
be held Tuesday, August 17
at 7:30 p.m. at Marilyn
'Bruinsma's home, 230 Jones
Street, Goderich, to. in-
troduce Christian Women's
Club to any of the ladies of.
the area who would be in-
terested in attending. There
Will be no obligation for in-
volvement for any wishing to
know.more about it.

Residents enjoy shopping_
Sunday morning worship
was held in the . Huronview
auditorium with a. good at-
tendance. Reverend Wittich
spoke on "God's Love" tak-
ing his message from the
Book of Colossians. The . an -
theta by -the choir wasen-tin-
ed "Jesus Loves The Little
Children". We had a
delightful surprise when
Mrs. Wittich, Garth and Jeff
joined with us in the service.
Mrs. Wittich will be our
guest soloist next Sunday.
Tuesday Special Care
residents had their usual get
together. Frank Bissett pro-
vided piano music and
refreshments were served.
Huronview news
Wednesday many
residents went for a van ride
and
enjOyed the outing. To-
day the men from Men's.
Floor were treated outdoors
to a delicious meat of ham
burgs, hotdogs and ice-
cream. Thanks to our staff
for these mouthwatering. ex-
tras.
