Fair hirings employees
Western Fair's employ-
ment office will begin accep-
ting applications next week
for nearly 800 temporary
jobs during the September 10
to 19 exhibition.
In previous years, hun-
dreds of applicants flocked
to the fairgrounds as soon as
the employment office open-
ed. The current limited job -
market is expected to
generate even more interest
in fair -time work, and per-

The employment office
opened at 9:30 on Tuesday
morning, ,August 3, and the
fair will continue to see ap-
plicants until at least Fri-
day, August 6. Would-be
workers are assured that
every application will be
considered before jobs are
assigned, so there is no ad-
vantage to being "first in
line". -
In addition to the fair's
own labor requirements,
about 300 exhibitors, conces-
sionaires and ride operators
will be hiring staff locally.
Persons seeking employ-
ment in these capacities dur-
ing the fair should apply
directly to the Canada
Employment Centre for
Students at 120 Queens

Connie Coniglio will be in
charge of Western Fair
employment at the Centre,
and her office is open from
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mon-
day through Friday.
