Hayter's remained in the fight for a
tournament spot by winning 2 of 3 games it
played during the week.
On Sunday, two runs lathe of the
seventh erased .a shod -lived Denounme
lead and resulted in a 5-4 victory for
Hayter's. The two runs came on three
consecutive hits, a double by Warren Watt,
single by Jun Ginn and double by Jon Ginn
scored both runs.

being down 3-1 early in the game.
The winning pitcher was Dave Scholl in
relief for Rick McLean. Paul Coriveau
+leek the los.. in relief of Doug Roulston.
Earlier in the week, Hayter's defeated
Lakeport Steel3-2 and last to Kirkey's 7-5.
The Lakepart game was decided in the
ninth inning with the score_iied 2-2, when
Denny Williamson doublet, moved to
second on a pass and came home on Rob
Riehl's double. Warren Watt of Hayter's,
Ron Miller and Larry McCabe of Steel
each collected tow hits. Winning pitcher
was Dave Scholl, Wayne Draper the loss.
Klrkey'svictory over Hayter's was
decided early when they scored six runs in
the fourth inning sending .10 men to the
plate. With two out, consecutive singles
byu Bruce Bowman and Bruce Sheardown
and an error on Paul Bartliff's hit loaded
the bases. Two more errors and a single by
Terry Peat e:l brought in three r.. ns, and
Ron Sowerby's double produced three
more.
Hat'ter's collected a run in the fourth on
consecutive doubles by Riehl and Petrie.
Dave Scholl lined a three run homer with
Dave McDonald and Jim Ginn on base to
close out the scoring.
Rick sowerby ,went the distance for
Kirkey's, while Dave Fisher took th loss.
Top hitters in the game were Rick and Ron

Lakeport Advertising remained atop the
Gift standigs by defeating the Bedford
Hotel 5-2. Bedford jumped into the lead in
the first inning scoring two runs on a Gary
Peter's triple, Jim Crawford's double and
Bill Black's fielder.
Advertising got , two runs back in the
setorsl inning to tie the game when Al
Sygrove singled with one out, Lenny Kolb
man followed with a single, Dave Mclvor
was on . on an erner and Ron Chantey's
fielder brought in the second run.
Lakeport put the game away in the third
inning, scoring three runs." Arnie Parker
led off with a single, moved to third on
Simon Langlois' error and scored on Greg
Hansen's sacrifice fly. Ron Corriveau

A six nm outburst in the second inning
carried Dean Doherty and the Company to
an easy 94 victory ov the Signal -tar.
In the first inning Brian Shewfelt's,
trip a see -red on Mi4 Frayne's sacrifice
fly. Rob McDonal Tom O'Brien, Bill
Peters, • Dean Doh ; Mike Frayne and
Brian Shewfelt all singled ir$ the :second
producing six runs. Bill Tigert and Dean
Doherty scored in the sixth to close out the
Company Scoring,
Brian MacLean scored three time and
Leroy Meriam scored once for the Signal-
Star.
Dean Doherty took th victory, Jim
Martin the loss. Kevin Meriam went 4 for 4
for the Signal -Star, while Dean Doherty
and Brian Shewfelt had two a piece for the
Company.
FRENCH 4 DENOMMES 2
French split a pair of games list week.
On Wednesday, against the Arrangers
with the game -tied at one in the fifth,
French struck for three runs to put the
game away, the key hit being a two run
single by Jon Bogie who also went the
distance, throwing a four hitter to earn the
win.
Earlier in the week French suffered a
heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the
‘-----illitellftedford. With score tied -a-12=2 m the
top of the seventh, Jim Crawford walked,
advvanced to second on a wild pitch, third
on a steal and scored on Glen Falkiner's
fly ball to right.
Winning pitcher John Crawford threw a
six hotter for the Hotel while equally ef-
ficient performance by John Bogie was not
enough to prevent him from being tagged
with the loss.
