Antique cars displayed here Notalgia -huffs . and curious onlookers were out in force to get a rare glimpse of yesteryears automobiles parked around the cour- thouse on The Square, last Saturday. Approximately 70 vehicles were on display as, part of., the annual get together of the Historical Automobile . Society .of Canada. - • • Featured were cars from as early as the 1905, one cylinder Northern, to the larger and more modern 1965 Mustang. E-ach car with its gleaming body and im- maculate interior gave local residents an opportunity to view these rare collectors items. , Worthy Young, a Goderich resident and the proud owner of a 1959 Canadian built Regent, said that it took him about a year to get his car in running order. - - I had to get parts from Ohio and Stratford to get the car in running condition," he explained. Wed in Clinton '4) Michelle Annette Smith and WilliamBenson Whitely were wed in a double ring ceremony at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Clinton on May 15 with Father John Pluta of- ficiating. The bride -is the daughter • of Wayne and Mary Smith of 'KR.- 1 -Clinton and the groom is the son of Dorothy and Ben Whitely of R.R. XGoderich. For her special day, the bride wore a long white crepe and chiffon gown accented by a key hole neckline, natural waistline and bodice of Belgian lace. Her hat was fitted to the left side with a large flower and beading and featured matching crystal pleating and Belgian lace with a flowing veil. To complete her outfit, she carried a large cascading bouquet of or- chids, pink roses and spring blossoms of mauve. Short trails of green ivy framed the flowers. Maid of honor was Janice Abe of Brampton, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Heather Whitely of Toronto, sister of the groom; Karen Des Brisay of Windsor, cousin of the bride; and Suanne and Debbie Leigh Smith, both sisters of the bride. All of the bridal attendants wore gowns of pink featuring natural waistlines, spaghetti straps and full skirts com- plemented by blouson jackets of Sheffield lace. They carried Lacey white fans with lace streamers and sprays of mauve blossoms, pink delphiniums and white stephanotis. Katie Craig of Seaforth, friend of the family, was flower girl. She wore a long, dress of pink covered by' a sheer smocked pinafore made by the groom's mother. She carried a bouquet with the same bright colors as the bride's flowers. Jim Ginn of Goderich, cousin of the groom, was best man. Guests were ushered into the church by Brian Whitely of Goderich, cousin of the groom, Wayne Smith, brother of the bride and Ron Young and Rick McClinchey L., of Goderich, friends of the Justin Dawson of London,- -cousin of the bride, was the ringbearer. Eugme Bradley of Clinton played sas the bride entered the church on the arm of her father. Soloists were Judy Loft of Thedford and Seamus Doherty of Clinton, ac- companied by ,Eugene Bradley on the organ and Barry Stevens of Clinton on the giiitar. Altar boys were Liam Doherty and Matthew Kerrigan and the reader was Thomas Rissesco of Dart- mouth, Nova Scotia. 'Before the 'wedding dinner \ held at the Goderich ' Township Hall, the mother of the 'bride and the mother of the groom greeted guests. The bride's mother wore a formal grey and rosewood crepe gown :with matching accessories: The groom's mother wore a .long twOr piece - aubergine -colored, crepe ciutfit. The straight ' skirtwas complemented, by a jacket featuring ruffles at the- nekline, - waist and sleeves. ,. An overblouse of embroidered tulle outlined with seed pearls featured a mandarin collar and the hill sleeves gathered into a deep lily- point cuff. The bride alSo wore a hat of tulle and soft straw with rolled brim dipp- ing slightly front and hack. - Her finger tip veil of tulle was bordered with tiny white daisies. - She carried a cascade of yellow roses, white miniature carnations, stephanotis and baby's breath with trailing fern. Matron of honor was.Bar- bara Goddard of Goderich, friend of the bride. She wore a yellow gown with deep flounce of elegant lace and whispering pleats falling from the ribbon tied at waist and carried a nosegay of white daisies, yellow miniature carnations and baby's breath with white satin streamer. Ringbearer was Michael Pawith of , Blyth, cousin of the groom. The groom and his -atten- dants all wore brown tux- edos except for the ringbearer who wore a' white„ tuxedo. •Dinner meet held The Arthur Circle Auxiliary . of Knox • Presbyterian Church held a well -attended dinner meeting June 21 at Glenda Salters home. President Grace Cameron thanked the hostess and also credited her group With a tasty meal. The Arthur Circle and the WMS are, going to join together for an August project—the selling of t.v. dinners—in order to raise money for the • church - building restoration. Members were asked to \Ki ciAl/ sell tickets for the pork barbecue to be held in September and Joan Perrot was put in charge of sales. This barbecue is another fund-raiser for church restoration work. Glenda Salter- read John 1:29; 35-37 for devotions followed by Hazel McCreath who read a poem, "Go Tell Jesus". Margaret McKenzie led in prayer. The Mizpah Benediction • was said in unison to, conclude the meeting. • The next meeting will be Monday, September 20. For a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, New York and Buffalo, the bride chang- ed to a yellow linen suit and white cotton blouse with tie front and a corsage of yellow roses and baby's breath.
