Those recognized included the parents' group, the Goderich Ministerial -Association which helps with chapel services, the Auburn Sunday School which has contributed money for playground equipment, the teenage volunteers who. help with recreation and hydrotherapy, Enid Sharpe Who donates hand -made articles on which tickets are sold and the volunteer association which donated $6,664 worth of 'extras' to the centre for the benefit of the resments caf these 'extras' include a camp barbecue, a pony harness, Christmas dinner, a scooter for one of the ) r - residents . and various trips and parties. This year the volunteer association, headed by president' Grace Patterson, has already committed over $5,000 to' the centre and recently purchased a $3,500 hydraulic lift for the van used by residents ' at the centre. Thislift makes the loading and unloading of disabled residenti, especially - thosq in wheelchairs; much easier. The association raises its money in varions ways. Presently they are preparing Antique Show and Sale to be held at the centre in August. "The future will depend on volunteers even more than now and I hope and pray there are sufficient of us to carry on," she old- those present. Pat Wheeler. co -ordinator -- of volunteer services and Bill Gregg, administrator at the Bluewater Centre, each offered their 'thanks to the volunteers for all their time, talent, kindness and com- munity support. Gregg also thanked a dedicated staff who often work above and beyond the call of duty.
