Agricrew program
•
a big success
with area farmers
Agricrew has been a big.
success with Huron. County
Farmers. The program is
designed to provide summer.
employment for students
"and occasional labour for
full-time and part-time
farmers. '
This year there are three
crews based in Huron. Two
crews meet in Clinton, while
the third meets in Blyth.
Foremen for this year's
crews are Susan Nixon,
Wirigham, - Carol Ritchie,
Lucknow and Tim Webster,
Blyth. Each has a crew of.
three others,'ready and.
eager to serve area farmers.
As well, a 'list -of - alternates
serve to provide a back-up in
case a crewmern-ber is sick
and cannot work.
The crews are doing a
variety of chores this sum-
mer, throughout' the county.
Their list includes stone
picking, wood piling, moving
chickens; gardening and
general clean-up.
There has been a._very_
good response from the far-
ming community. Crews
have been booked from the
beginning of the program,
June 21 to July 26, 1982,
although names are being
taken in the event of
cancellations. The program
finishes August 13, 1982, so
there is still time to get those
unfinished.. jobs --. done._ For
