musical program featuring
old-time music by Kenneth
Dale,Gordon Harrison, W.J.
Hughes, Ebb and William
Ross and•Francis Schram. A
sing -song was lead by Mrs.
William Helesic.
Mrs. G.L. Royal and Mrs.
Gordon Henderson poured.

an attractive floral
arrangement by Mrs. Gerald
Feagan. The arrangement
was a door prize and was
won by Mrs. Girvin Young.
Each table was graced by
a single long-stemmed rose,
decorated and arranged by
Mrs. A. Barnett.`
Members of the Third
Goderich Girl Guide Com-
pany .served the tables.
Other helpful young people
adding to the pleasure_of the
afternoon were Andrew
Carruthers, Chuck Egener,
Dorothy McCall and Ewan
McMahon.
Banquet held
The ladies of Berea -by -the -
Water Lutheran Church
chose to show their ap-
preciation . for husbands and
sons by hosting a father -son
banquet, Wednesday
evening, June ' 23 in the
church educational unit.
Ted Ulmer of Kitchener,
director of the Canadian
. Lutheran Laymen's League,
was the guest speaker. His
three sons, Mike, Todd and
Tim were also guests.

Lachine, Quebec, Kitarnat,
B.C., Fort McMurray,
Alberta, ;Sarnia and the
surrounding area.
For a wedding trip to
Northern Ontario; the bride
changed to an ivory
polyester dress with a
chiffon overbodice of pink
flowers and a corsige of pink
roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Shepherd are residing at
R.R. 6 Goderich.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was feted at .a
girlfriend shower in Fort
McMurray, Alberta; ''a Nile
community shower; and a
girlfriend shower held by
Donna Drennan.

Mark Barz, son of the
Reverend and Mrs, Marvin
L. Barz of Goderich;• was one
of 147 who graduated from
Louis, Missouri on May 28.
This marked the completion
of eight years of study and
training• for the ministry in
• the Lutheran Church -
Missouri Synod. He was
awarded the degree of
Master of Divinity and also.
received his Theological
Diploma, making him
eligible to accept the call to
become ,assistant pastor of
Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Saginaw, Michigan.
Twenty-six years of age,
Barz is married to the for-
mer Connie Lehenbauer of
Deshler, Ohio. They have
one daughter, Kristen Marie,
both April 5 of this year. •

He graduated•from St. Johns
High School in 1974, just
prior to the family's move to
Goderich. That fall • he
enrolled • at Concordia
College, Ann Arbor,
Michigan where he com-
pleted his Bachelor of Arts
