Whatever it was, Tickers Brickers don't care, as they became the first Goderich team to defeat the Bears. Rumour has it that several Tickers playerswoke up in Grand Bend the next morning -must have been the party! The Ticker team, playing sound defensive ball, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third as Mark Lassaline, Bob Boak and Mark Whet crossed the' plate on hits by Dave`'Blacker and Bowen. This must have pulled the Bears away from the honey jug, as they scored three in the fourth and added two more in the top of the fifth to take a:tlead. _Tickers, sensing a tremendous party in the making, tied it up in the bottom of the fifth, scoring Lee Fry and Mark Lassaline, then took a 6-5 lead in the sixth as Ken Bowen crossed the plate with two out.' The top of the seventh will long be remembered, as the leader of the pack. Ed Mannering came close to hitting three pitches but bought a 2-4 instead. _Mike Lajuenesse flied out followed by a John Anderson walk. The gloves flew as Bill Wedlock flied out to end the inning and preserve the Ticker upset.. Hats off to the boys from Tickers for a job well done.
