Palliative care volunteers
complete training course
Palliative care volunteers have now
completed their course of training which
consisted of approximately 30 hours of
movies, lectures, etc.
The main function of palliative care is
to assure that dying patients and their
families are as comfortable as possible.
Review charges
The , medical staff has asked the
hospital board to review all the medical
items that are now being charged for in
the emergency department. The staff
feels that it is not appropriate to charge
for some of the items now being charged
for and that allowances should be made
for needy patients who cannot afford to
pay.
