On Monday the steamer

Stirring scenes
reminiscent of the Great
War were witnessed at the
CNR depot on Wednesday
afternoon when a large
group of RAF personnel of
all ranks, many of whom had
trained at Port Albert for 12-
20 months, left for
somewhere in the British
Empire. Hundreds of friends
• from Goderich were present
to wish the lads from the
British Isles safe journey.
Town Council • at its
meeting Friday night last,
having received approval of
• the ,Ontario Municipal
Baord, passed a by-law to
extend the boundaries of the
town on the north to the north
side of the River Maitland
and on the west to include the
water lots adjoining the
previous western boundary
of the tOwn.
An Anson bomber made a
forced landing on Lake
Huron, about two miles north
of town Saturday afternoon,.
75 feet from. land. The crew
of two crawled unharmed
from the cockpit and swam
to • shore unhurt. The
machine was somewhat
damaged from its spec-
tacular belly landing in the
water.

Harbor beach became a

A recently installed
abrasive cut-off machine at
the Dominion Road
Machinery plant speeds up
production in the cutting of
steel. The ,plant is operatin'g
at full capacity these days.
