The Goderich Archers
Association was formed last
November by Ken Fitz-
patrick with assistance from
the Goderich Recreation
Department. There are now
20 members who meet once a
week for practice.
Fitzpatrick has been in-
terested in archery as a
hobby since he was a young
boy and he wanted to share
this interest with other
people. He explains that it is.
a relatively inexpensive
hobby compared to some
others. It costs between $300
and $500 for the equipment to
get started, including an arm
guard, finger tab, bow and
arrows. After that, there is a
$25 yearly maintenance. fee
for new arrows.
There are different types
of archery including target
archery in which lighter
bows are used and hunter
archery in which high
powered bows are used.
