46. In memoriam
CHAMBERS
In loving memory of my dear
father, George A. (Joe)
Chambers, who passed away
one year ago, June 2, 1981.
My heart aches with sadness,
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you
father,
No one will ever know.
When I am sod and lonely,
And everything goes all wrong,
I seem to hear you tell me,
"Cheer up and carry on."
Each time I look at your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
"Don't cry, I am only sleeping,
We will meet again some day."
Even though you ore not with
me,
We are never far apart,
Because of the leve and
strength you gave me,
You will always be in my heart.
-Sadly missed, always
remembered, and will always
love, daughter Annie Marie

Goderich which was laid out
in streets at the time of the
founding, has many streets
with names of battles,
leaders, or statesmen of Bri-
tain during those war years.
No streets in Goderich are
named after events or
leaders in either of the World
Wars.
Some mayors of Goderich
are remembered by streets
which have been given their
names, but none odour Cana-
dian statesmen have beet!
honoured in this way. Most
recent streets have been
named by using the names of
trees or combining the word
sun with another word.
In closing, Judge Carter
mentioned that we should
develop a national pride and
honour our own statesmen
and leaders by giving their
names to our streets in the
future.
Janet Kalbfleisch thanked
Judge Carter for his very in-
formative, interesting and
often humorous address.
