Bears continue
unbeaten str = ak
BY BRUCE BAKER
In 'A' division play of the
Goderich Men's Slowpitch
League last week, the Bears
continued their unbeaten
ways by defeating Port
Albert Bulldogs with a score
of 7-5.
Early in the game it looked
as though it would be another

fighting back to tie the score
at five apiece in the ,sixth.
The bad Bear bats would not
be denied though as Duncan
and Kloepher hit safely and
eventually scored in the
seventh to seal the win.
The week was not a loss for
the Bulldogs though as they
took advantage of fielding
errors early in the game to
down Goderich Restaurant
by a score of 12-5.
The Oldtimers, an early
season surprise, jumped into .
a three-way tie by edging the
Coyotes 5-1 and hammering
Carlow 19-4.
In other 'A' action, the
Optimists defeated Carlow
by a score of 11-7 while losing
9-8 a day earlier to the
Coyotes.
Al Smith from the
Goderich Restaurant set a
team record with two home
runs in one inning en route to
a 26-10 victory over Garb and
Gear.
'B' division seems to be the
closer race this year as the
new team Cedar Lodge,
under the direction of Tim
Frawley, proved to be a
contender with two wins and
one loss this week, jumping
from sixth to third place.
