Close to 300 people attended the Primary Spring Concert that was held on Thursday night at
Robertson Public School. Each class neted out a fairy tale and Snow White was played by
Elizabeth Hall.

On May 19 Brookside held
their annual track and field
day. The winners are as

Over 800 rainbow trout tagged at fish 1
Roy Bellinger reports 871
rainbow trout have been
tagged at the fish ladder at
Port Albert. It appears now
that more will be tagged this
year than In 1981,
Ernie and Bob Scrupon
from London went fishing
this week in the Nine Mile
River. Ernie reports he
caught three nice black bass
and brother Bob caught one.
They returned the fish to the
river n bass season doesn't
open until June 26, •
Ball News
Port Albert Pirates opened
the 1982 ball season when
they played Benmiller in
Dungannon, The Pirates
trounced the opposition 18-0.
Harold Cook pitching for
the Pirates, pitched a steady
game. Randy Maize was the
big hitter for the Pirates with
two home runs.
On May 24 the Pirates
- played Kingsbridge in
Dungannon, The foggy
weather seemed to agree
With the Kingsbridge team
as they crushed the Pirates

Point Farms
Glen Sturgeon, park
superintendent at Point
Farms, reports that the park
was filled on •Friday and
Saturday. It was necessary
to charge several campers
for making excessive noise
and others with liquor of-
fences. The poor weather
discouraged some campers
who returned•home•Sunday.

dampen the spirts of the
many campers who camped
in and around the village

weekend. Saturday evening

Norval and Ruth Anderson
of Toronto opened their
cottage at 'River's Bend' on
the Nine Mile River at Port
Albert this week. The
Andersons have been
'vacationing in Port Albert
since 1967. rcuth is the
daughter of Agnes and the
late Bert Foster of Shep-
pardton and Norval was a
former resident of Goderich.
Having roots in this area,
they look forward each
Spring to their first visit to
Port Albert.
Sam and Nancy Cowan
have returned to their home
in the village after
vacationing in Florida. On
their way home, they visited
the Worlds Fair in Knoxville.
Visiting with the Cowans
over the holiday weekend
were their three sons and
families, Clyde from
Stouffville, Keith from
Mississauga and Brent from
London.
Blake Smith, band master
of the Laketown Band,
reports that the band par-
ticipated in two events over
the weekend. Ott Saturday,
they were one of several
bands in the Klompen Feest
parade in Clinton and on
Sunday they took part in the
commissioning of the new
Coast Guard cutter at the
Goderich harbor,
Viola Petrie. will be leaving
'this week, for a hus tour of
Pennsylvania. She will tour
several Mennonite com-
munities in the area of
Lancaster.
William and Margaret
Halkwill from Downsview
opened their summer home
this week. Friday they had
as their guests, their
daughter Karen and her
husband Barry Hutchinson
from Brampton.
There were many visitors
in attendance at the Com-
munion Service held Sunday
at Christ Anglican Church,
Port Albert. The Reverend
Hagood Hardy coming
Huron Country Playhouse
will present Ilagood Hardy
in concert on Friday, June 25
at 8 p,m. as the first in a
series of special events.
Hagood Hardy's musical
achievements over the last
few years have been nothing
short of monumental.
Certainly no• stranger to the
music world, he was heavily
• involved In the Toronto jazz
scene, atipeared on all the
major .CBC variety
programs from 1957 through
1961, formed • the Hardy
group "Montage" in 1969 and
—begairtf ke-a-irame-for
himself. The group was
disbanded, in 1974 and Hardy
concentrated on spending
time cultivating commercial
jingles.. ' • •
One year later a tea
commercial turned his life
around. Convinced to record
a full length version of the
piece entitled • "The
