The Central Huron -Perth
region of "Bikers Rights
Organization" was formed
at the BRO Provincial
council meeting May 2, in St.
Thomas.
A group of concerned
motorcyclists joined
together and made ap-
plication this past Sunday,
presenting their intentions
and answering questions
from the executive. After
being informed and supplied
with the charter and con-
stitution aims of the BRO,
the provincial council
executive unahimously
granted and welcomed the
formation of the new region.
"Bikers Rights
Organization" is a political
lobbying group whose motto
says it all, "Dedicated to fair
and just - motorcycle
legislation." BRO has
provincial councils and locl
regions in many provinces,
run in similarity to the local
legion. The primary dif-
ference between the two is
that the BRO is concerned
with motorcycling.
BRO members come from
all walks of life from lawyer
to labourer, with motor-
cycles bringing them
together. In Ontario, BRO
has regions from Thunder
Bay to Windsor, with
membership in the province
heading towards 1000 this
year.
In addition to government
watching, BRO members do
a great deal of charity work,
raising funds,donating their
time, knowledge and in-
fluences for innumerable
worthy causes.
Orr May 2,9 and 30, BRO
Ontario will actively support
Cycle Canada Magazine's
"Ride for Sight." The run
will leave the CNE in
Toronto with over 1000
motorcycles parading
„through the city.
