By-law no. 9, 1982 was given a third reading and finally passed. This by-law levies a special annual rate on several properties to cover tile drain loans. By-law no. 10, 1982 was also given a third reading and finallly passed. This by- law appoints Chief George Whitby of Lucknow as fire chief for West Wawanosh Township. The road superintendent was authorized to advertise in three local papers for tenders for approximately 40,000 cubic yeards of pit run gravel for construction in 1982. Road accounts totalling $5,425.55 and general ac- counts totalling $10,221.90 were. ordered paid. Mrs. Annie Gaunt , West Wawanosh and Ashfield representative on the Wingham and District Hospital Board of Gover- nors, attended the council meeting and reported on her year as such a represen- tative. Mrs. Gaunt agreed to act for another two-year term, and a nomination paper was completed in her name to be forwarded to the board. Management at the dump was discussed. Council was informed of the Ministry •'of the Environment's in- spection on April 27 and the recommendations made at that time. A site plan for the dump must be prepared by. December 31, 1982 and the clerk was directed to contact several engineering firms to obtain quotations for preparation of a plan. The drainage superin- tendent was given authority by council to walk the St. Augustine Creek which is the creek involved in the Robinson Drainage Works. An application for severance by Raymond Hallahan to correct the title of the property was ap- proved by council. Lodge holds party Goderich Rebekah Lodge held their annual dessert card party and bake sale at MacKay Centre on May 5 at 1:30 p.m. with 22 tables playing euchre, bridge and 500. Prizes went to Mrs. John Broadfoot of Brueefield, Mrs. Kay Nivins of Auburn and Mrs. Iregne Harnock, Mrs. Mary Clairmont and Mrs. Harold Chambers, all of Goderich. Tickets had been sold on boxes of groceries which went to Mrs. Dorothy Bennett of R.R. 6 Goderich and Mrs. Allan Chrystler, Shirley McCall and Debbie Davidson, all of Goderich and Mrs. Robert Hendry of Gueph.
