where he will remain em-
ployed.

Mrs,. Louise Wilson, Prim-
ary Consultant for the Huron
County Board of Education
visited the grade one class
rooms last week. Mrs. Wil-
son is a former teacher at
Brookside.
On April 29 grade seven
attended an operetta, The
Frog Prince, at Clinton Pub-
lic School.
The class rooms involved
in the spring concert and the
junior and senior choirs have
been busy practicing. ' The
concert is on May 6 at

o'clock.
Grade Height went to Toron-

There they visited the Parlia-
ment Buildings and the
Science Centre. Miss Bode
and Mr. Jewitt accompanied
them.

cerning a blind girl in Africa
and the skills she was taught
at a special school.

Brookside on May 19 and a
two pitch ball tournament is
planned for June 16.
Class pictures and individ-
ual pictures, which were
taken a couple of weeks ago,
came to the school fast week
and were distributed.
The nurses will be around
to do fluoride teeth brushing
during the week of May 3.

Jog - a - thon
raises $2,740
A jog.a-thon fund raiser

complex was completed
Tuesday with 153 high school
students raising $2,740.

fund raiser for the boys was
Joe Melady with 1100 and for
the girls were Cathy Jacques
and Sharon Tobroke with $80
The first boy finished was • each.
Track team shines in meet
The GDCI track and field
team gave a fine showing at
the South Huron track meet
held in Exeter on Monday,
May 3. The team took 21 first
place ribbons, 22 second
place and 22 third place
during the one day event.
Kim Fritzley took ° top
honors in the 200 meter and
400 m. midget and placed
second in the 100 m. event.
Joe Melady placed first in
the Junior shot put and discus
and third in the javelin. Rob
Plunbett took top honors in
the senior 110 hurdles and
triple jump.
The event gave the
athletes an opportunity to
sharpen their skills for the
Huron -Perth Conference
Meet scheduled for Monday,
May 10 in London.
