Peter Spain helped students at St. Mary's School plant a tree during Arbour Day,held last
Thursday in Goderich. The town representatives attended similar ceremonies at other
schools In Goderich and helped students plant Norwegian Maples purchased for the oc-
casion.

Eric Stach has been an ac-
tive member of the avante
garde jazz scene Since the
early 1970's. Playing alto
and soprano saxophone and`
clarinet, he has worked

Tiger Dunlop Women's In-
stitute Annual meeting and
potluck lunch was held in
Colborne Township Hall,
Thursday, April 29. Mrs. R.
Buchanan, president, presid-
ed.`After lunch the meeting
was called to order and all
joined in the Opening Ode
with Mrs. G. Kaitting at the
piano.
The roll call, An Easter or
Spring Thought, included
several members reading
appropriate poems.
Minutes of the last
meeting were read by the
secretary, Mrs. Allan Stoll.
Correspondence included a
letter from Home
Economist; and an invita-
tion to a Quilt Display at
Knox United Church,
Auburn, May 15th.
The President thanked all
for their help and co-
operation at our luncheon
euchre card party, Wednes-
day, April 21.
Mrs. A. Young reported on
the 4-H party Wednesday;

had attended. The lunch
served emphasized the pro-
ject they are now doing con-

reported on the Huron West
District W.I. executive
meeting in St. Helens April5.
She advised 'the district
meeting will be held in
Londesboro Monday, May 31
with the local Institute in
charge of crafts. Every
branch. Institute is to supply
crafts to the value of $5.00 for
this meeting.

presented by Mrs. R. Bean,
convener of the nominating
committee.

terested in having two
members attend the 85th
Anniversary of the F.W.I.O.
at the Constellation Hotel,
Toronto in August.
RECREATION
Colborne Township
Recreation Committee met
in the Colborne Township
Hall Tuesday, April 27.
President Bill Vanstone,
called the meeting to order
and the minutes of the last
meeting were read by the
secretary, Mrs. Reg. Riehl.
Softball is receiving
special attention. To date ap-
proximately 65 girls and
boys have registered and
registration will close
definitely Saturday, May 15.
If your boy or girl has not
registered as yet and wishes
to play, see to it that he
registers by this final date.
More coaches are needed.

Mrs. Cora Sherwood was
especially pleased to hear
from her two grand-
daughters of Corunna this
past week. Davina Dawson
11 year old grand -daughter
was one of the singers at the
Sarnia Musical Festival. In
the 12 and under class she
won first prize, a festival
medal. In the second number
she was in she sang in a class
of 14 older pupils. Duanna,
eight years also sang in
another class and won a cer-
tificate. She came third in
ss

Terence Hunter has
returned home from the
hospital and is convalescing

who passed away on Satur-
