This is the fifth consecutvie year for the increasingly popular concert which will feature the Cralgellen Singers, the Goderich Teen Tones, the Harbouraires and the Goderich Laketown Band. Here, members. of all those groups rehearse the conceit finale which is "Man and His World", the theme song of the Montreal Exposition. Lorne Dotterer directs and Irla Stewart is at the piano. Well two Goderich residents think so and have asked council to consider allowing them to paint street numbers on curbs for a small fee, if the owners of the house consent. Peter King and Scott Wilson, in correspondence to council, asked permission to paint the house number on curbs for a fee. They in- dicated a similar practice is done other cities, such as Stratford, for beautification. They said the numbers would be placed on the top and side of the curb in front of the customer's house and the hlsek numbers would be MacDonald clan gathers A number of the Mac- Donald clan came to the MacDonald home at •Loch- alsh last week to gather as a -family and visit with old friends and relatives in the community. Frank MacLennan, grand- son of Mrs. Rhetta Mac- Lennan, is the goalie for the Ripley Midget hockey team. Frank has had a very busy week playing with his team in the tournament in both Wingham and Goderich. Kenny and Mary'lrwin and daughter of Newmarket visit- ed one day last week with their aunt and uncle. Charles and Mayme Wilkins. Julie MacDonald, daugh- ter of George and Andrea MacDonald, spent time with her aunt and uncle, Mike and Brenda Lazette of Tiverton.. Brenda brought Julie home and then visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.'Elmer Culbert. Mr. and Mrs. Max 'Rieg- ling and children visited on Wednesday with Mrs. Rieg- ling's sister. brother-in-law and family, Matt and Ursulla Richardson of London. Councillor Stan Profit believed there was merit in the proposal and asked that the matter.be referred to a joint committee of traffic and works and engineering for consideration. "I think this should be investigated. When you're walking or in a car during the day or night, many street numbers are difficult to find, Profit said. "There is merit in the idea and it was admirable for these fellows to think of it."
