Former Goclerich resident dies in Manitoba
ADRIAN LASSALINE
Adrian Lassaline of Lynn
Lake, Manitoba died in Lynn
Lake on Monday, March 22
at the age of 44.
He was born in Goderich
on October 14, 1937 to Nor-
man and Diane (Gouin)
Lassaline.
He worked as a carpenter.
He is survived by two
daughters, Valerie and
Gerianne, both of Rodney;
three sisters, Mrs. John
Marie Therese) Redmond
of St. Catherines, Ursula of
London and -Mrs. Joseph
( Annette) Miller of Dash-
wood; eight brothers,
Marcel of Calgary, Jean
Paul, Gerard and Claude, all
of London, Philippe of
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia,
Leonard of Goderich,
Jerome of Guelph and
Joseph of Mississauga.
He was predeceased by
one brother, Vincent.
A funeral mass was held
on Saturday, March 27 at St.
Peter's Roman Catholic
Church in Goderich. The
Reverend Father A.F.
Loebach officiated.
Interment was in St.
Peter's. Cemetery, Colborne
Township.
Pallbearers were
nephews, Norman Lassaline,

Church, Goderich.
He is survived by two
nieces, Mrs. Kenneth

Clinton and Mrs. Bill ( Pat)
Hutchins of Goderich and
two nephews, Michael
O'Reilly, of Sudbury and
Robert Pinkham of Detroit.
He was predeceased by
four sisters, Ethel Simpson,
Clara Pinkham, Della
Wilson and Gladys O'Reilly.
A funeral mass was held at
St. Eeter's Roman Catholic
Church, Goderich on Friday,
March 26 at 11 a.m. The
Reverend Father A.F.

Interment was St. Peter's
Cemetery, Colborne
Township.
Pallbearers were nephews .

31, 1934. Following their
marriage, they lived in
Detroit until moving to
Bayfield in 1967.
The late Mr. Clark- was a
tinsmith with Chrysler
Corporation. „ He was a
member of the Bayfield
Lions . Club and Trinity
Anglican Church in Bayfield-:
He is survived by his wife;
two sisters, Mrs. William
(Ada) Leitch of Goderich
and Mrs. Fred (Gladys)
Telford of Bayfield; and one
brother, ,Borden Clark of
Grand Bend.
A funeral service was held
at Trinity Anglican Church
in Bayfield on Tuesday,
March 30 at 2 p.m. The
Reverend Douglas S. Pitts
officiated. ° Stiles Funeral
Home of Goderich was in
charge of the arrangements.
Interment was in the
Bayfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Barry
and Dick Clark and Stan,
George, Ray and Doug
Telford.

He was born in Owen
Sound on November 16, 1909
to Robert and Lena (King)
Alexander.
He attended , public and
nigh school in Owen Sound
and . lived in Owen Sound
until moving to Goderich in
1935.
He worked as a 'stationary
engineer with Champion
Road Machinery Limited
until retiring in 1971.
He was an adherent of
Knol Presbyterian Church,
Goderich.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Iva Young; one
son, Robert of Goderich;
three daughters, Mrs., Ken
(Marv) Howes of Toronto
Mrs. Ross (Joan) Purcell of
Listowel and Mrs. George
(Barbara) Picot of Bayfield;
one brother, Stanley
Alexander of Owen Sound;
and six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by
-three 'brothers, Roy, Percy
and Harry; and two sisters,
Mary Trembly and Reta
Cassidy.
A , funeral service and
committal were held at.
Stiles Funeral Home in
Goderich on Friday, March
26 at 2 p.m. The -Reverend
G.L. Royal officiated.
Interment was in the
Maitland Cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie H. Griffiths. of
Goderich died in Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
on Saturday, March 20 at the
age of 72.
She was born in Vienna,
Ontario on October 7, 1909 to
William and Nora Belle
( Thomas) Parrack.
She married George G.
Griffiths. He survives her.
She was a member of the
First Baptist Church in
Goderich.
Besides her husband, she
is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Ross (Barbara) Lovett
of R.R. 1 Londesboro; two
sons, John of Oakville and
Terry of Goderich; two
sisters, Mrs. Ulah Evans and
Mrs. Ila Arscott, both of
London; and nine grand-
children.
She was predeceased by
one son, Arthur; one sister
and three brothers.
A funeral service was held
at McCallum Funeral Home
in Goderich on Monday,
March 22 at 2 ,p.m. The
Reverend Albert Motchman
officiated. .
Interment was in the
Maitlan., Cemetery,
Goderich.

Mrs. Nora McCosh, for-
merly of Goderich and
Kincardine, died in
Wingham and District
Hospital on Wednesday,
March 24 at the age of 78.
She was born in Hamilton
on April 4, 1903 to The
Reverend Gilbert and Mrs.
Emily (Chandler) Gomm.
She attended school in
Dungannon and resided in
Dungannon, Pine River,
Conn, Ripley and Kin-
- cardine.
She married Dr. R.A.
McCosh and worked as a
receptionist in his office in
Conn, Ripley and -Kin-
cardine.
She was a great musical
talent (A.T.C.M.) endplayed
the organ for the Ripley
choir for many years.
She was a member of the
United Church.
She is survived by her
husband; two children, Mrs.
Alan (Mary) Williams of
Wingham and Kenneth of
Goderich Township; one
brother, Norman Gomm of
Kingston; seven grand-
children; and four great-
grandchildren.
A funeral service was held
at McCallum Funeral Home,
Goderich on' Saturday,
March 27 at 2::.0 p.m. The

special speaker at North
Street United Church,
Goderich, this Sunday
evening, April at 8 p.m.
North Street Church has
been holding weekly Lenten
Sunday evening services
since February 28 in
recognitioin of • its
sesquicentennial year.
Special music, speakers and
even a travelling Christian
drama group have been
presented at these services.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of
the University of Alberta, St.
Stephen's College and
Boston University. He has
served churches in the
Toronto area for the past 14
years. A committed
ecumenist, he is • Co-
chairman of the Roman
.Catholic -United Church
Dialogue Group and has just
been named as one of the
Canadian delegates to . the
sixth Assembly of the World
Council of Churches in 1983.
On June -1, he will become
senior minister of
Shaughnessy Heights United
Church in Vancouver, B.C.
