The December general
meeting and Christmas par-
ty el the Legion Ladies, AUX-
Mary was held on December
8 with 79 members present.
Four new members were in-
itiated into the Auxiliary and
these ladies are Sandra
Bond, Charlotte Anderson,
Marilyn Sallows and Ruth
Fisher.
Ten year service pins were
presented to Penny Bricker,
Gwen Moller and Anne
Linklater.
Members who are
celebrating at least their
35th wedding anniversary
during December were men-
tioned: Eileen Harrison,
Laura Mclarty, Marion
Harris, Grace Mugford, and
Mildred Cook.
Ethel Caslick was con-
gratulated ea the birth of her
baby daughter.
Our deepest sympathy was
extended to the family of
Wass Agnes Lizmore who
passed away in late
November. Miss Linnore
was the liaison between
Goderich Auxiliary and
Westminster Hospital in
London for many years and
she will be sadly missed by
all. Deepest sympathy was
also extended to the family
of Verna Jolmston who pass-
ed away December 8. Verna
was an active member of the
Auxiliary for many years.
Thanks was extended to all
the members who made the
veterans' Christmas party
such a success. Approx-
imately 40 veterans arrived
at the Branch from London
and many local veterans at-
tended the party as well. As
usual, the ladies in the kit-
chen outdid themselves in
preparing an excellent meal
The children's Christmas
party will be held on
December 20 at 2 p.m. and
all members were asked to

The Ways and Means Com-
mittee is sponsoring a
Christmas dance on
December 19 and ladies
were asked to hiring sand-
wiches.
A New Year's Day Levee
will be held from 2 to 5 perm
on January 1 and all
members were extended an
invitation to attend.
A detailed sports report
was given outlining all the
winning teams in the various
sporting events with special
congratulations given to
Grace Mugford's euchre
team who will be advancing
to provincials in limmins in
May 1982. Plans are under-
way for a mixed Branch -
Ladies' Auxiliary euchre
touniament sometime in
January or February.
Due to the Christmas par-
ty being held inunediately
after the meeting, the Com-
mittee Reports were kept to
a minimum. However, Myr-
tle McNair reported that she
had remembered 12 Com-
rades since the last meeting
and Jean Elliott matted
that she bad nemembered
Uwe Comrades who were in
out-of-town hospitals.
Marion MINIS was the
recipient of the attendance
draw prize and, in lieu of a
mystery prize at this
meeting, a "Miss Piggy"
doll made by Hilda Brost was
raffled off and the lucky win-
ner was Ming MacMillan.
The winners of the
Christmas cake draw are:
scroll layer - John Mite
chfteld of Walkerton; middle
layer - Bonnie Graham of
Goderich and bottom layer -
Laurie Glazier of Goderich.
The cake was made by Marg
MacMillan and iced by
Laurie Glazier.
Following the meeting, an
excellent lunch provided by
all members present was en-
joyed and the annual ex-
change of Cleristmas gifts
was made. All participating
in the "Secret Pal" program
finally found out who had
remembered them all year
low with cards and gifts.
The next general meeting
will take place on Tuesday,
January 12 and will begin at
6:30 p.m. with the annual pot
luck supper. See you there! I
sincerely hope that each and
every member has an ex-
tremely Merry awistmas
