St. Joseph's C.W.L. held
their second annual Christ-
mas pot luck dinner in the
Parish Hall, Monday even-
ing, December 7. The Youth
Club catered to this event.
Several members, their
husbands, Father Ed Dent-
inger, Brother Carl Voll and
the staff of St. Joseph's
Community School enjoyed
the bountiful meal,
Following the dinner, a
brief meeting followed with
Mrs. Mark Dalton presiding.
Minutes of the last meeting
were read by the secretary,
Mrs. Antone Van Osch and
adopted as correct. Corres-
pondence was read by Mrs.
Gene Frayne.
Regarding a letter from
the Children and Family Ser-
vices in Goderich, a motion
was made by Mrs. Wilfrid
Austin, seconded by Mrs.
Carl Riegling to make a
sizeable donation to assist
needy families at Christmas.
An were in favour.
The treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. Stan Doherty.
Cultural Life report was
given by Mrs. Gene Frayne.

which were recently made to
the school.

thanked by Mrs. Antone Van
Osch on behalf of the
League}
Following a Spiritual Mes-
sage from Father Dentinger,
the meeting was adjourned
by Mrs. Theo Van Diepen.
Mrs. Clarence (Twinkle)
Doherty was chairlady for a
brief program. She certainly
was very becoming dressed
in her elf costume. Father
Dentinger was called upon
for some of his usual good
humorous stories.
Everyone enjoyed singing
carols accompanied by Mrs.
Walter Clare at the piano.
Mrs. Mike Dalton sang some
Christmas tunes accompany-
ing herself on the guitar.
North Ashfield
The "Sweet Josephines",
Betty Lou, Loretta. Shirley
and Mary, sang two Christ-
mas Carols. Two readings
given by Brother Carl were
enjoyed.
Twinkle the Elf read a
poem. How To Wrap -a
Present, with Mrs. Santa
Claus (Mrs. Ted Martin)
demonstrating using Joanne
Doherty as the "volunteer".
Then Santa Claus appear-
ed on the scene delivering
' gifts on behalf of the League
to Father Dentinger and
Brother Carl. Several door
prizes were won by Sally Van
Osch, Jackie Dalton, Clar-
ence Doherty, Dave Sharpe.
Janet Card, Joanne McDon-
agh, and Father Dentinger.
Each member brought a
small gift to put under the
tree. These gifts will be
distributed to the Nursing
Homes in Lucknow and God-
erich before Christmas.

The North Ashfield Pres-
byterian Church held their
annual Christmas concert
Sunday morning following
the morning church service.
Jim and. Ruth MacKenzie
entertained the MacKenzie
family Sunday evening at a
Christmas dinner. There
were about 25 guests ex-
pected: Ross. Jean MacKen-
zie and boys, Allen and Linda
MacKenzie and family and
Mrs. Rhoda MacKenzie of
Lucknow, just to name a few.
Bill and Janet Kempton of
Point Clark were in Guelph
last Thursday and visited
with Janet's sister, her hus-
band and family, Joan and.
Ellwood Irwin. On Friday
morning they boarded the
train for Kingston to visit
Bill's twin sister, her bus-
-band and family. Mr. and
Mrs. E. G. Torrible.
Miss Amy Rotteau, daugh-
ter of Brad and Dianne Rot-
teau of Amberley, visited last
weekend with her friend.
Shelly Hewitt of Kin -Bruce
Subdivision and Amy's sis-
ter, Emily, had her friend.
Meidow visit with her at her
home • in Amberley.
Sunday visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Warren Wylds and
Mr. Dan Wylds were Kenny
and his daughter.' Melanie
Wylds of Goderich. Mrs.
Wylds` mother. Mrs. Irene
Stone. of Goderich and Mrs.
Jean Wylds of Kincardine:
Janet Wilkins of Sarnia.
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Wilkins. was home
on the weekend with her
parents.
Mrs. Betty Moncrief was
hostess for the monthly
meeting of the W.M.S. of
North Ashfield Presbyterian
Church. Elizabeth Wilkins
was their guest speaker,
speaking on her trip to New
York city. This meeting was
in the form of. a pot luck
supper.
'The get well wishes of the
community are sent out to
Ewan MacLean, who is in
Kincardine hospital, recup-
erating from surgery that
was performed the first of
the week.
Mrs. Rhetta MacLennan
was in Harriston last Friday
and visited with her brother
and sister-in-law. Harold and
Peggy Jardine.
On Tuesday morning Jack
and Marion Smith of Dun-
gannon and Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Ayotte of Dashwood
called for a few minutes on
Wellington and Kae Web-
ster.
We would like to send get
well wishes to Orland Rich-
ards of Lucknow. formerly of
this area. who is a patient in
the Wingham Hospital.
We also send get well
wishes to Gordon Robb, who
is recuperating in a London
hospital after a leg operation.
He arrived home Thursday
afternoon. and will have a
cast or his leg for a month.
Gordon is now getting
around on crutches
Mrs. Bertha MacKenzie
has completed a 12 week
Home Support Workers
Course at Vanastra. This
course is given by the Clinton
Centre of Conestoga College
in Kitchener:

Class Activities
Mrs. Freeman's clams is
writing stories, making pic-
tures, playing games and
learning lots of Christmas
songs. From what Mrs.
Freeman has been saying,
the children are being good
and are excited about
Christmas.
Choir
Mrs.. Freeman, a teacher
with lots of talent, has been
leading the primary choir.
The choir will be singing five
Christirnas songs at the
Bluewater Centre on
Thursday, December 17.

The senior choir has now
been going strong for about
two months and 30 people
have been making the Choir
a great success- They are
now ready and using to gp
for their first concert Tues-
day, December 21 here at
Robertson. Good luck to all
the singers.

Christmas tea for the
parents on December 16.
In the two classrooms they
have 12 centres where they
go to every day to do
Christmas activities. Some
of the centres are the vision
centre where you write
about your Christmas
dream: the frosty centre
where they make large Fros-
ty the Snowman pictures and
write stories about him; and
the listening centre where
they listen to Christmas
records_
Shannon Hill thinks the dif-
ferent centres are neat and
she goes to a different centre
each day with her friends
Eddie, Cheryl and Kari.
Some other things they are
making are gingerbread
houses, toys. for Santa's .
workshop, Christmas tree
chairs., rice krispie squares,
and a list of what they would
like for Christmas.
