Council approved a con- tract for 1981 and 1982 for Registered Nurses and nurs- ing director of Huronview in Clinton. The bi-weekly salaries for the nursingdirector are as follows, with 1980 salaries in brackets: start 1981 - $834, 1982 - $934, ($770); six mon- ths 1981 - $848, 1982 - $950, (new term); one year 1981 - $861, 1982 - $964, ($793); two years 1981 - $889, 1982 - $996, ($817); three years 1961 - $915, 1982 - 11,025, ($842); four years, 1981 - $943, 1982 $1,056, ($865); five years 1981 - $970, 1982 - $1,086, (new term). The bi-weekly salaries for Registered Nurses are as follows, with 1980 salaries in brackets start 1981 —$734, 1982 - *821074663); six mon- ths 198i - $748, 1982 - $838 (new term) ; one year 1981 - $761, 1982 0$852, (1686); two years 1981-$7 ,1982 -$884, (1710); three years 1981 - $815, 1982 -$914, ($733); four years 1981-$843, 1982 - $944, ($757); five years 1981-$870, 1982 - $974, (new term) . The salaries are as follows, with 1981 salaries in brackets: physiotherapist $988 ($882); occupational therapist $14.50 per hour (113 per hour); assistant administrator and coordinator, start $802 ($708), one year $834 ($736), two years 1862 ($766), three years $902 ($796), four years $937 ( ), five years $962 ($850). Salaries for the county weed inspector and tree commissioner increased from $6.50 per hour to $7.25 per hour. Huron County council also hired Joe Gibson as tree commissioner, since Ben Straughan appointed. city administrator in Barrie Ben Straughan, 52, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Straughan of Goderick was recently appointed city ad- ministrator for Barrie, On- tario. Straughan, a city employee for more than 28 years, started out as welfare administrator and assistant to the clerk -treasurer for Barrie. He was promoted to clerk in 1955. A certified municipal clerk and member of the Interna- tional Clerks Association, Straughan last year served in the highest post a non- elected municipal represen- tative can hold in the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. At Queen's University, he has taken courses in municipal management as well as courses in accounting. During his years with the city, Straughan has also ac- cumulated scumulated two "Boss of the Year" awards and one "Ex- ecutive of the Year" award from the Barrie Secretaries Association. When Straughan was a boy, his father would take him to the town council meetings in Goderich town hall, which were "entertain- ment" at that time to him as a youngster. The Straughan family's roots here go back to 1830 when George Straughan and his wife and one son settled on the sixth concession of Colborne Township. Ben is the oldest in a family of eight boys.
