The efforts of Colborne
Central School students and
teachers to prepare a float
for the Santa Claus parade in
Goderich on Saturday was
well worth it. They received
first prize for their float
depicting the theme "Reflec-
tions".
A special thanks to Arnold
Young of Colborne who is
always so willing to give of
his time " and, in this in-
stance, supplied the wagon
for " the 'float. With his
popular show team of
horses, it was really
something special. Also
special thanks to Denomme
Florist for decoration and
Kirkey's Texaco gas station
where the float was assembl-
ed.
On Saturday, Dec. 5,

and girls will participate in
the volleyball tournament at
the Goderich Collegiate at 9

we are telling oiir chuldren
the whole world will be united.
It's true that everywhere we turn today, we see chaos and division — explosive in-
ternational relations, racial and religious conflict, families falling apart.
And yet the world, despite its problems, is contracting into a neighbourhood. We
have to learn to live as one human family, or we won't exist at all.
The question is, how?
Baha'i communities around the world are learning how, through the teachings of
Baha'ullah, Founder of the Baha'i Faith. •
Baha'is believe the disorder around us is the most painful part of a long, slow pro-
cess — the unification of all mankind. Over a century ago, Baha'u'llah said: `The earth
is one country and mankind its cifiiens. " '
Like Christ, Moses, Krishna, Buddha and Muhammad before Him, Baha'u'ilah was
the bearer of a message from God. His message, again, is love. And this time, He has
given humanity a plan for a unified, peaceful world order.
We in the Baha'i community, including our children, are learning to put that plan
into practice.. We find that it works — for all of us.

pot luck luncheon at 12:30
(members please bring
place setting). It was decid-
ed to invite the 4-H leaders
and to bring friends in-
terested in W.I. work. A
special program will be pro-
vided by Mr. and Mrs. G.
Cowan, and Mrs. Harold
Elliott and daughter Helen.
There will be an exchange of
gifts for $2. Let us do all
possible to make this a
special meeting at the
Christmas season.
Mrs. Ella Bogie gave an
interesting and informative
report of the area convention
she attended as the Tiger
Dunlop delegate in St. Marys
recently.
The theme for the meeting
was "Resolutions" and Mrs.
Emerson Elliott gave an in-
teresting motto, "Forget
what you cannot do, concen-
trate on what you can". She
mentioned thanks to Miss Li-
ly Blanchard, one of the
members who, while not
able to be present, had
helped with this motto,
stressing what we can do,
especially with our hands in
helping others.
Mrs. G. Kaitting then gave
a short talk on "Resolu-
tions", mentioning several
matters of concern such as
"small print for medical
directions and on food pro-
ducts as to how to make
them", "no handles on mat-
tresses, so how do you turn
them, especially if a senior",
"television guidelines for
children viewing violence,
sex, etc." We hear so often
Canada is going into a reces-
sion, let us not panic, but let
us practise what we have
learned down through the
years, to economize in all
fields, be cautious, buy wise-
ly and if possible, help the
younger4 generation to do
likewise and this would be a
worthwhile resolution for all
of us, she said. Our own In-
stitute needs our interest and
attention and every member
is needed - make this your
resolution, Mrs. Kaitting
summed un.
Members joined in a short
question and answer period
on questions gathered from
the report of resolutions Lon-
don Area 1981 submitted by
London Area Convener,
Lillian White.
The meeting closed with
God Save the Queen and The
Grace, after which all en-
joyed a social half hour with
lunch served by the commit-
tee of Mrs. William Clifford,
Mrs. George McBride, Mrs.
Hunter and Mrs. 0.
Falkiner.

At the end of September
