The Huron County Home

alternative to hospital care.
There are a total of 38 pro-
grams in the Province of On-
tario covering approximate-
ly 99 percent of the popula-
tion. Presently, 21 of these 38
programs are able to pro-

professional services of

physiotherapist, occupa-

cillary services provided in
addition to the professional
services, include drugs,
dressings, and medical sup-
plies, meals on wheels,
homemaking, equipment on
a loan basis and
transportation in ex-
tenuating circumstances.
Some advantages of con-
valescing at home include:
1) People are often more
comfortable and content in
the famWar home setting.
2) Being at home frequent-
ly stimulates a person to
more activity and in-
dependence' than is possible
in a hospital setting which
can be conducive to a speedy
recovery.
The program is financed
100 percent by the Ontario
Ministry of Health which
means there is no charge to
the patient and is ad-
ministered by the Huron
County Health Unit.
