History of, Kingsbridge studied
he \Fall Meeting of the
Huron Historical Society was
held in Kingsbridge Hall,
Wednesday evening, Nov-
ember 4,' hosted by the
Kingsbridge Geneological
Society. •
Mrs. Con Hogan greeted
everyone at the door. Mrs..
Bernardine Kinney welcom-
ed the large gathering of
members and guests. She
introduced Mr. Donald
Frayne; • the Emcee for the
evening, who introduced the
president of the Huron Hist-
orical Society, Mr. Joe Hog-
an of Exeter, and secretary
treasurer. Mrs. Doris Batkin
of Clinton. A brief business
meeting was conducted.
Mr; t'rayne congratulates
Mrs. Kinney and Mrs.' Joe
Courtney for their efforts and
planning of the evening. He
then capably read the "Hist-
ory of Kingsbridge" written
by Mrs. Courtney, who fol-
lowed the interesting account
with slides, depicting the
history of Kingsbridge. All
was very much enjoyed by
everyone, as were the bul-

letin boards, pictures, books,
and antiques of bygone days
organized by Mrs. Con Hog-
an, assisted by Joe Austin,
attracted much attention.
An entertaining musical
program followed with Mr.
Bob Courtney. Ripley play-
ing saxophone solos, accom-
panied by his wife, Joyce.
Mr. Bert MacDonald, Goder-
ich played violin selections.
Mrs. Betty. O'Donnell, Luck
now gave two readings entit-
led "Kingsbridge" and
"The Old Country Store",
very appropriately chosen.
Miss Lisa Frayne,. Kings-
bridge danced "The Irish
Jig" and "Flora McDonald's
Fancy Mr. • Ray • Dalton
sang "The Man Behind the
Plow" and the bachelor
song, "Meself". He then
joined Father Ed Dentinger
in a sing -a -long, "When
Irish Eyes are Sailing" and
"Mrs. Murphy's Chowder".

Goderich,- thanked Mrs. Kin-
ney
"for a very enjoyable and
worthwhile eyeing, congratu-
.lating the women who orig-
inated the Kingsbridge Gen-
ealogical Society - Mrs. Ber-
-nardine Kinney and' Mrs. Joe
Courtney, Kingsbridge, Miss
Helen McCarthy and Miss
Carrie O'Neill, both of Goli-
erich. A silent tribute. was
offered in memory of the late
Mrs. John Austin, who con-
tributed much to the forma-
tion of the Genealogical
Society.
Mr. Frayn thanked every-
one
for attending. A bounti-
ful lunch was served with
Mrs. Ted Martin, Mrs. Theo
Van Diepen and Mrs. Doug-
las Westecott, as lunch con-
veners.
Mr. and- Mrs. John Kin'
ney of Detroit, Michigan
spent the weekend *with Mrs.
Bernardine Kinney.,
Shawn Dalton, son of Mrs.
Clarice Dalton was a well
deserved winner of the apple
bobbing contest held at the
1st annaul K.ntail, Hallow-
e'en party. After four elim-
ination rounds. Shawn won
out, over 14 other . eager
contestants with a time of
,one second. Congratulations
Shawn!
Willie. Hendricks' put up a
tough fight coming in with a
time of 1.3 seconds. '
Shawn attributes his suc-
cess to hours of practise and
encouragement from the
crowd. So gang, start practis-
ing now, if you plan to defeat
this champion next year.

and 7:00 a.m. durintt the winter season.

hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. should make
alternate arrangements. Vehicles parked
on any public street between the hours of
