The proof..... is in the pudding
(1st layer)
2 cups flour
1 stick butter or margarine
2 tbsp. sugar
'/z cup chopped pecans (save some for top of dessert)
(2nd layer)
8 oz. cream cheese (1 large).
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Cool Whip or Dream Whip
(3rd layer)
2 small pkg. instant chocolate pudding (made up)
(4th layer)
1 cup Cool Whip or Dream Whip
Mix first ingredients and press in bottom of long pan
(13" x 9"-)
Bake at 450 degrees until -brown, about.5 minutes.
Watch it, it might burn. Cool. Add 2nd, 3rd and 4th
layers. Sprinkle with chopped pecans and refrigerate.

HALF HOUR PUDDING
Sauce
21 cups water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1.tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine ingredients into a casserole dish. Bring to a
boil, simmer for 10 minutes.
1 cup white sugar
1 tbsp. butter
Y2 cup milk
"Xs tsp. salt.
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Beat sugar and butter until creamy. Add remaining in-
gredients; mix well into a dough. Spoon dough into sauce.
Bake for one half hour at 350 degrees F.
