LLL meets
The La Leche League in
Goderich met in October at
the home of Mrs. Hoy. The
topic for discussion was
"Baby Arrives; The Family
and the Breastfed. Baby."
Special attention was
given to the 'premature in-
fant,

The leaders from Hensall,
Belgrave and Goderich met
• near Belgrave recently with
members and interested
women to report on the La
Leche League International
Conference in Chicago. To
commemorate La Leche
League's 25th anniversary,
over. 200 speakers spoke on
topics .concerning medical,
nutritional, and behavioural
aspects of child care which
are directly related to
breastfeeding.
If enough 'interest shows
itself in the Goderich area a
similar meeting to discuss
the highlights of the con-
ference will be held in early
December. More informa-
tion can be obtained by phon-
ing 524-2390. .
The next meeting topic
will be "Nutrition and Wean-
ing" which will include sug-
gestions about nutrition for
nursing mothers and their
families as well as informa-
tion about weaning the
breastfed baby. Pertinent
questions such as "Are there
foods I should avoid if .I
breastfeed my baby?" will
be answered with the latest
medical research and per-
sonal 'experience. This
meeting will be held at 195
Britannia Road East on
Thursday, November 5 at 8
p.m.

directory
The 1981-82 edition of the
telephone directory for
London -St. Thomas and sur-
rounding area becomes
available beginning
November 20,1981.
Peter Croome, local Bell
manager, said 238,000 direc-
tories willbe delivered this
year, about 7,000 more than
in 1980. Delivery is schedul-
ed to be completed by
December 7, 1981.

cept is illustrated in color
photographs on the front and
back covers.
New information in the in-
troductory section includes:
Information about the

tre — a toll-free number for
subscribers to call if they are
