committee that the Huron County planners have
scheduled to complete their zoning by-law in the
spring of 1982. It was felt that the timing of the Greer,
Galloway proposal would compliment the county
planners' timing. Secretary, Ken Hunter was in-
structed to inform Cindy Fisher, who is preparing the
township plan, of the proposed zoning by-law.
Other consultants considered . by an airport, sub-
committee to prepare the airport master plan were
The Proctor and Redfern Group at $15,500; Dillon at
$14,800 and Marshall, Macklin and Monaghan at
$12,600. The sub -committee felt that all of these
consultants were capable of performing the work as
outlined in the terms of reference. However, Greer
Galloway consultants were chosen because they had
the lowest quotation and because of the zoning by-law
they proposed to prepare. They also visited the air-
port itself, showing a greater degree of interest.
At the airport committee meeting of last Wed-
nesday evening, correspondence was received and
filed from James Snow, Minister of Transportation
and Communications, giving approval of the Board of
Industrial Leadership and Development (B.I.L.D.)
subsidy for development at the Goderich airport in
the amount of $25,000. Of this money, $15,000 will be
used towards the master plan and $10,000 toward a
new 5,000 gallon underground fuel tank to replace the
inadequate 1,000 gallon tank already there.
Tenders for the tank and its installation closed
•.
Monday at noon. The °closing was to have coincided
with the town council meeting of October 6, however,
council is not scheduled to meet again until
November 9. Secretary Hunter feels that it may not
be possible to have the tank installed this fall because
of the lateness of the year and the high water table. It
was suggested that the mayor be approached to call a
special council meeting to open the tank tenders.
In other business, Secretary Hunter informed the
committee that John Hindmarsh's hangar that is
attached to the lounge building was vacated by him
when hemoved his aircraft into the new T -hangar. He
was informed that• he would have to remove the
hangar as the lounge building was scheduled to be
torn down. The demolition of the lounge building was
not carried out as expected in 1981 and Sam Sweeney
has now requested that he be allowed to use the
hangar until it must be removed.
The committee passed a motion stating that it had
no objection to the use of Mr. Hindmarsh's hangar by
Mr. Sweeney on the understanding that the hangar
will be removed when required and that both Mr.
Hindmarsh and Mr. Sweeney be so notified.
The secretary presented a summary of the ex-
penditures and revenues of the airport to September
30, 1981. From this summary, it appeared that the
airport will be within budget and the revenues will be
similar tthat proposed.
