Sir Percival Glyde, a wick-
ed but charming villain, will
stop at nothing in his fiendish
schemes.to lead a life of total
sell -indulgence. You'll love
to hate him as' he plots to
dispose of all those who
stand in his way. Watch in
disbelief es this fiendish
rogue has his lovely wife
sealed in a madhouse in
order to obtain her in-
heritance,
Only with your support
and enthusiastic encourage-
ment can someone as wret-
ched as Sir Percival be
brought to the bar of justice.
The play is being directed
by Stephen Norton and pro-
duced by Diana Scott, with
musical accompaniment by
Irla Stewart. Set and
costume crews have been
diligently working long
hours in order to bring the
show to completion on time.
Needs names
The mini-cotmunity and
day care centre on Cam-
bridge Street will soon be In
use but the facility lacks a
name.
The town of Goderich will
operate a day care centre in
the Cambridge Street centre,
which is expected to be
occupied by November 2, At
Monday's session of council,
John Doherty suggested a
committee be appointed to
provide a suitable name for
the facWty.
Councillor Elsa Haydon
said the facility was also a
community centre claiming
it would befitting if people
offered suggestions for a
name during open house.
Councillor Stan Profit
indicated the town could not
go wrong by naming the
centre after Terry Fox while
others believed people living
in the neighbourhood might
have ideas for .a suitable
name.
The mutter was tabled and
will be discussed at future
'meetings. r

What's
good for
the goose..
Dear Editor:
The Canadian taxpayers
own a railway, the C.N.; also
an airway, Air Canada; plus
an oil company, Petrocan.
Now theOntario government
has bought a controlling in-
terest in Suncor, better
known as Sunoco. The
government requires a
financial report on all
businesses operating in
Canada, and they even have
investigators to make sure
that income tax evasion is
not practised. I would say -
what's good for the goose is
good for the gander.
Why shouldn't they, the
government, be subject to
the same kind of scrutiny?
Give the public a financial
report annually, to let the
taxpayers know what is be-
ing done with their money.
This report should be done
by chartered accountants.
If they don't trust the tax-
payer, and they guard
against income tax evasion,
why shouldn't the taxpayer
be able to check against
political feather bedding?
The people should elect a
committee to check govern-
ment spending and make a
public report concerning it.
If we have to be susceptible
to their scrutiny, they should
be susceptible to the scrutiny
of the public.
A wonderful place to start
would be the pension fund,
(is it getting the current
bank interest rates?)
travelling expenses, etc.
We have to give a detailed
account as to our income.
Why shouldn't they be oblig-
ed`feidsa to . e ilgiilea-,
Sincerely,
N. J. Minaker
