September 5 at 4 p.m. for the
wedding ceremony of Ronald
Paul Wright of Exeter and
Suzanne Marie Snaith of
Goderich.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Wright of
Exeter and the bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Smith of Goderich.
The Reverend Austin
Gedcke officiated at the
double ring ceremony.
Soloist Ken Freebairn of
Exeter, a friend of the bride
and groom, sang the
Christian Wedding Song.
The bride was given in
marriage by her parents.
She wore a full length white
silk dress with long sleeves
and flower lace on the
neckline, shoulder line and
cuff line. The cuffs came to a
V shape around the hand. A
long trainand white wide -
briniuned hat with waist
length veil completed the
ensemble.
The bride carried a silk
bouquet of carnations and
roses.
Maid of honor was Cheryl
Smith of Goderich, sister of
the bride. She wore .a floor
length gown of pink polka
dotted gauge over taffeta
with a long sheer sleeved
jacket overtop and carried a
bouquet which was the same
as the bride's.
Bridesmaids were Linda
Petrie of Stratford, cousin of
the bride and Sally Taman of
Goderich, friend of the bride.
They were gowned the same
as the maid of honor and
carried the same flowers.
Flower girl was Rene
Wright of London, niece of
the groom. Shewore a white
crimp full length dress with
short sleeves and pink rib-
bon. She carried the same
flowers as the other at -
Children read books for IVIS cause
These days when parents
and educators are concerned
with the decline in the
"Three R's" there is a pro-
gram designed to motivate
children to read books - the
MS Read a-thon..
Local elementary school
students will again have the
opportunity to improve their
reading skills while raising
funds for Multiple Sclerosis
(MS) research when the
Read-a-thon begins October
13th. Area students will be
signing up, sponsors who will
be asked to help by pledging
money (a nickel, dime,
quarter, or more) for each
book the youngsters read
during the 3-5 week reading
period.
Schools in Huron County
that will be participating in
the MS Read -a -then include:
St. Joseph RCSS in Clinton,
Exeter Elementary School,
St. Bonifare in Zurich andSt.
Joseph RCSS in Goderich.
Each school is visited by
an M.S. society represen-
tative October 13th 23rd for
an assembly presentation.
The interested students then -
register and have until
November 13th to read as
many books as they wish.
The youngsters are urged
to "read for the need of
others", by their parents,
teachers, and well known
personalities who support
the Read-a-thon: Wayne
Gretzky and Guy Lafleur.

dians have Multiple_
Sclerosis, a mysterious
disease which affects the
central nervous system.
Multiple Sclerosis afflicts
young adults between the
ages of 15-90.
Established in 1977 by the
Multiple Sclerosis Society of
Canada, the M.S. Read-a-
thon has grown and gained
the support of the Interna-
tional Reading Association,
the Canadian Library
Association, as well as
thousands of school
superintendents, principals,
teachers, librarians, and the
children themselves.

the church by Tom Smith of
Goderich, brother of the
bride and Bill Wright of
London, brother of the
groom.
Ringbearer was Steven
Clarance of Goderich,
nephew of the bride.
Following the wedding
ceremony, a .reception was
held in the Bethel Pen-
tecostal Assembly hall which
was decorated with red and
yellow roses for the oc-
casion.
The bride's mother
greeted guests in a teal blue
sleeveless silk dress with a
corsage of pink and
burgundy carnations.
The groom's mother
assisted wearing a grey full
sleeved dress with a corsage
of pink and burgundy car-
nations.
For a wedding trip, the
bride changed to a light
mauve sheer silk outfit with
dark mauve flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
Wright are residing in
London.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was feted at showers
given by her sisters, Debbie
Clarance and Diana Little;
Shirley, Wright, sister-in-law
of the groom; and Bethel
Pentecostal congregation.

We started a Cross Canada
run three weeks ago and we
have reached Toronto. By
this we mean that we have
run 2,100 kilometers. We
tabulated this by' totalling
the laps which each person

On 'Monday, October .5 the
junior and senior boysand
girls competed in a soccer
tournament in Goderich.
The junior boys gave a
very good effort but came up
short of a championship.
They lost their final game on
penalty shots. The team
received a pennant for
runner-up.
The senior boys also came
up on the short end. Their
team also received a - pen-
nant for runnet-up.
We would like to thank the
coaches for their time and
the boys and girls for their
participation:
On Tuesday, October 6, the
school had a short film on
bus safety. We hope that
each and every person will
obey the rules to make a
safer tide.

odours were wafting along
the corridors as Mrs. Jolly's
Grade 1 had applesauce, and
Grades 2, 3 and 4 with Mrs.
Tebbutt and Mrs. Graham
had pumpkin pie cooked at
school from home-grown
pumpkins. They also.roasted
the seeds and enjoyed snack-
ing on them. Mrs. Young
made jello for her Grade 1.
