play last week. Wednesday,
the Vikings blasted Norwell
58 - 20, and Thursday they
got by Wingham 46 - 33. The
Vikings now sport a 4 -0 won -
lost record. Today

Geiger's team puts its un-

Chess club attracts, new members
The Goderich Chess Club
has attracted many new
faces and the club would like
to extend a welcome to new
members and those who
have returned.
Doug Brindley, last year's
master, got off to a good
start by winning all four of
his matches. Dave Weary,
returning after a two-year
layoff, proved too strong for
both Phil Abbott and Brian
Brindley. Larry Gower and
Dennis Little won two games
apiece and Bob Dick gained
a top level position with a
victory over Barry Page.
In the standings, five
players are tied for first in
level one, Doug Brindley,
Dave Weary, Larry Gower,
Dennis Little and Bob Dick.
Bob Fitzjames leads level
two with a .667 winning
percentage and is followed
by Brian and Scott Brindley.
Don Etue is tops in level
three play while Phil Abbott,
Mike Cox and Barry Page
are still looking for a win.
If you are interested in
joining the chess club call

Can you solve this week's
problem? White to move.
