Closest to the pin was won by Ron Stanley. Last Saturday night the Sunset members enjoyed a delicious dinner, prepared by Mrs. Miller, the iiiStribu- tion of beautiful prizes, followed by a dance. Special thanks to Ellen Connelly who bought the prizes on the ladies' table and Shirley Baechler, for the men's table, you both did a great job once again. Stan and Mary Lynne Telford were the mixed Two - Ball winners and runners up were • Dorothy Bogie and Dave MacAdam. For the ladies, Verna Kane was first low gross winner with runner up Mary Lynne Telford. The Sunset Bowl winner was Mary Ann Dempsey; runner up Dorothy Bogie; mini handicap went to Rosemary Armstrong With runner up Isabel McDonald: In the ladies Two -Ball, Chris Reeve and Della Bedard were winners with, runners up Dorothy Bogie and Isabel McDonald. The most improved golfers' trophies went to Don Fink and Rocky Whalen. Congratulations to all the winners. This Thursday will be the ladies closing dinner, also golf, weather permitting. Special awards will be given out after dinner. So all lady members- plan to attend our closing night, I'm sure Shirley will have her usual good dinner planned for us! Coach John Geiger got a good team effort from his Vikings. Patti Botz led the Goderich girls with a 16 - point effort. Sonja Lapaine added 11. Robin MacDonald with six, Tracey MacEwan with four points, and Barb Conlon, Teresa Donnelly and. Andrea DeWinter with" two points each completed the _ Viking offensive output. The Vilcings make their next league start here Thursday against Seaforth. Geiger's team has been active in tournament play. Geiger could only describe the St. Pat's team as "awesome". Combining size and quickness, St. Pat's went on to win the tournament with a 77-52 victory over Brantford St. John's in the final. The Vikings' second game was a loss to Oshawa O'Dwyer, 51-30. The Vikings' moment of glory came in their third • game, an exciting 39-38 victory over Parkside of Dundas. The Vikings had a 27-10 halftime lead, but saw that dwindle and were tied with Dundas through much of the final quarter. In the last minute o of the game, with the score tied, Patti Botz sank afree throw to give the Vikings the winsf;.t.' ' Sonja Lapaine • had 13 points against Dundas. Barb Conlon added eight and Botz had six, as did Teresa Donnelly. Mary O'Neill,• Robin • MacDonald and Karyn Drennan got two pointseach. Against St. Pat's, Lapaine had seven, Botz and Drennan had six apiece and O'Neill had five points. In the Oshawa game, Lapaine had. . 14, Botz seven, Barb Conlon and Robih MacDonald four each and O'Neill one. •• This weekend, the Vikings continue tournament action in an invitational event in Wingham. 6.1 ILV 4 0.
