What more is life than a cup of
Hine? .
The sun as it touches, each
.grape on the vine; •
The moan as it bathes us with
evening light: °
The cry of a newborn babe in
the night:
The sounds in a school yard of
children at play:
The smell of a freshly mown
meadow'of hay...
The love you brought with you
right from the start:
The smile that could magically
touch someone's heart;
The dreams of tomorrow and
what would unfold:
The wonder of destinies as
they were told: •
The, news that confirmed all
the worst of my fears -

been gone ten years.

YOl' ONCE ASi(ED
What more is life than a cup of
Hine? .
The sun as it touches, each
.grape on the vine; •
The moan as it bathes us with
evening light: °
The cry of a newborn babe in
the night:
The sounds in a school yard of
children at play:
The smell of a freshly mown
meadow'of hay...
The love you brought with you
right from the start:
The smile that could magically
touch someone's heart;
The dreams of tomorrow and
what would unfold:
The wonder of destinies as
they were told: •
The, news that confirmed all
the worst of my fears -
1 can hardly believe you've
been gone ten years.
This poem was left unfinished
by Ralph Gillis. The six closing
lines were written ,this year in
his memory
