In that time, slowpitch provided countless hours of recreation and competition for close to 350 men in the area All things said and done, the end result was the same. For the second year in a row, a talented and spirited team from Meneset Park clinched the title. Although Port Albert Bulldogs and the Coyotes gave them a real run for the money, everyone will admit that they deserve to be and are our league champions. Although Meneset won both A division and league titles, two other teams deserve honorable mention. Carlow Country and the Cobras of B' and C divisions respec- tively played some excellent ball and came away with their divisional trophies. The final slowpitch write-up would not be complete without a sincere thank -you to Cath Wooden and the rest at Signal,Star for their coverage of our sport this year. Our sport is not one of super stars and young athletes with great promise. It's just a lot of fun for a bunch of guys, made more so by pictures and write-ups in the local newspaper. Again we thank you. Keep in mindthat slowpitchis not over just because titles are decided. The general fall meeting is planned for October 5 and the year end slowpitch dance will shake the town on October 24. The executive would like to thank all players and coaches for their co-operation this year and remind thenthat in 30 weeks, the fun starts all over again.
