John Jerry
gets wings

Lt. John H. Jerry, son of
Burns and Catherdie Jerry,
Goderich, graduated from
flight training at Canadian
Forces Flying Training
School at Moose Jaw,
Saskatchewan on August 28.
John was presented with
his Pilots' Wings by his
father at the graduation
ceremony. The receiving
officer was Lt. Gen. Lewis,
Commander of Canadian
Forces Air Command.
Tid Bits
.John' graduated from the
Royal. Military College,
Kingston, with a B.A. in
Economics in May, 1960. He
then completed .a 200 flight
hour course on the C.F.114=A
. Tutor aircraft at Moose. Jaw.
Lt. Jerry has been posted
to V.P. 405, Canadian Forces.
Base,,, , Greenwood, Nova
Scotia. He will baa flight
officer on the new Aurora
Maritime Patrol aircraft.

Some of you may not want
to be reminded of Christmas
this soon, but keep in mind
Colborne Township's 16th
annual Christmas Country
Fair at Saltford Valley Hall
on Wednesday, October 21
from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and
Saturday, October 24 from 10
a.m.to6 p.m.
A few of the special
features at this year's fair
will include bas-relief
sculpture on marble and
soap -stone; wheat weaving;
'quilted mandarin jackets;
and custom brass engraving.

After living on Elgin
Avenue in Goderich for 46
years, former Goderich high
school principal A.R. Scott
has moved to London.
Approximately 3,300
students passed ,through the
high school during Mr.
Scott's 25 years as principal
there.

Along with the new
teachers featured in this
section of the paper, there
have been several teacher
transfers.
Martin Bond has tran-
sferred from the Queen
Elizabeth School to
Robertson Memorial Public
School where he is teaching
Grades 5 and 6. Louise,
Sygrove has • transferred
from Robertson School to
Victoria Public School where
she • is teaching primary
special education. And
Roslyn Campbell has
transferred from Victoria
School to Holmesville Public
School where she is teaching\
kindergarten.
Robertson School and St.
Mary 's Separate School each
have new kindergarten
teachers to 611 in, for tyvo
teachers do maternity leave
for part ofthe year.
And Marianne Hogan is
teaching music part-time at
St. Joseph's Separate School
in Kingsbridge.
