GLT has plays, a party and workshop lined up
Newly elected Goderich
Little Theatre president,
Betty Etue has been spen-
ding these past summer
months organizing the club's
activities for the 1,981-82
season. 'There's a lot of work
to be don& At the first
meeting held September 3 at
the MacKay Centre for
Seniors, Betty outlined her
plans.
The first play, directed by
Stephen Norton, will be a
melodrama. There has
recently been a resurgence
of melodrama in Big . City
Theatre and G.L.T., ever
equal to the challenge, is
keeping pace. "Egad! The
Women in White" will be
produced October 29, 30, 31
and November 5, 6, 7.
Warren Robinson has
agreed to do a children's
Christmas play this year.
One of his own compositions,
"In the Court of the Emerald
King", written in 1976, is a
beautiful three act fairy tale
that will delight both the
young and the young at
heart.
G.L.T.'s first ( and
hopefully last) annual Barn
Cleaning Party is being held
on Saturday, September. 12.
We will be sorting some
twenty -odd years' ac-
cumulation of wardrobe,
props, furniture and lumber,
some of which will be
discarded.
It's your chance to help
with some fall cleaning and
keep physically fit at the
same time! Anyone wishing
to attend and be willing to
lend a hand, plase call Marg
De Bolt 524-7235 or Hattie
Bo lsby 524-7817.
If you're interested in
theatrical costuming then
don't miss Diana Scott's
Costume Workshop to be
held on September 17. See ad
in this week's Signal -Star for
more details..
Our season ticket cam-
paign commences Sep -
umber 15, so don't forget to
