Heather Hunter is backin school again
because arthritis research is paying off
Four years ago Heather. Hunter was an •
active student. She played on her high
school volleyball' teach, enjoyed outdoor
sports, and had a parttime job. Rheumatoid
arthritis almost destroyed that active,
,student life. It struck quickly near the end
of the 1977 school term. Pain, swelling, and
weakness kept Heather from school for
almost two' months. Walking became dif-
ficult. She was forced to give up her par-
ttime job. •
That was four years ago. Today, Heather
is back in action again. Continuing medical
treatment hos given Heather back her. ac-
tive life.; • She has graduated from high
school and is now a second year university
student. She skates, plays tennis, and has
a parttime jab again.
Heather isn't cured but with continued
treatment she can look forward to a nor-
mal active life. For Hepther, and thousands
of other Canadians, arthritis research is
paying off. The Arthritis' Society is busy
funding programs of research into the
• causes and treatment of , arthritis. Your
support helps to continue and expand
these vital programs.
