In a survey taken on
Thursday and Friday last
week, the town of Listowel
was found to have the lowest
gas prices in Huron and
Perth counties.

experienced last week, and
the survey showed the
average price for a litre of
regular gasoline in the two
counties is 38 cents. The city
of Stratford was excluded
from the survey.
The average price for a
litre of unleaded gas is 40
cents.
To compare these prices to
gallons, 40 cents a litre isap-
proximately $1.81.9 per
gallon and 38 cents a litre is
about $1.72 cents a gallon.
The list of communites
surveyed includes St. Marys,
Mitchell, Goderich,
Wingham, Seaforth, Clinton,
Exeter, Milverton and
Listowel. There were also
several gas stations still
operating on gallons. In each
town, gas prices from three
service stations were obtain-
ed.
The prices in Listowel are
as follows: Jackson Motors
Limited, 35.3 cents per litre
regular gas, 37.6 cents per
litre unleaded gas, and 40
cents per litre premium gas;
Bud's BP, $1.60 per gallon
regular gas, $1.72 per gallon
unleaded gas, $1.84.2 per
gallon permit= gas; Co -Op
Gas Bar, 35.1 cents per litre
regular gas, 37.4 cents per
litre unleaded gas, and 39.8
cents per litre premium gas.
In Goderich; the gas prices
are: Ed's Shell Self -Serve;
37.3 cents a litre regular gas,
39.4 cents a litre unleaded
gas, and 41.4 cents a litre
premium gas; Worth's Esso

surveyed, Charlie's Discount
Gas, is located on Highway 7
south of Stratford. Its prices
are as follows: 37.4 cents a
litre regular gas and 39.6
cents a litre unleaded gas.
In Exeter, the gas prices

NICHOLSON
Mrs: Ellen Nicholson of 96
Nelson Street, East,
Goderich died in Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
on Tuesday, September 1 at
theageof9l. -
She was born in Ashfield
Township on May 25, 1890 to
Robert and Mary (David-
son) Reid.
She married Chester
Joseph Nicholson in Strat-
ford in 1929. He predeceased
heron July 13,1974.
The late Mrs. Nicholson
had lived in Goderich since
her marriage. She was a
member of the First Baptist
Church in Goderich.
Besides her husband, she
was predeceased by five
brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by one
sister, Mrs. James H.
(Mabel) McIntosh of
Wingham.
A funeral service was held
at Stiles Funeral Home in
Goderich on Saturday,

E.J. Anderson officiated.
Interment was in the
Bayfield Cemetery.
