Graduation ceremonies were held at Doon Campus, Kitchener on June 12 where Joyce received the gold pin for first place honors in academic and clinical performance. See $3 bill Who says there's no such. thing as a $3 bill? Come to the Challenge Auction at Huron Country' Playhouse on August 2 at 2:30 p.m. and you ' will see that there is. During 1981, 82, and 83 the Wintario Arts Challenge Fund will match $2 for every $1 donated to the Playhouse over a base amount, and because of the tremendous support from individuals this season, the Playhouse is giv- ing away $3 challenge bills to its supporters. A $1 donation entitles the donor to one $3 bill. PATTI STEWART Patti Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Stewart of Teeswater, has graduated from the diploma nursing program at Fanshawe College in London. Graduation ceremonies were held at Althouse College on June 27. Patti's. grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Blake of Goderich at- tended. Patti has accepted a position with the Royal Alexandra ,Hospital in Edmonton. +++ Heather Lindsay, daughter of John and Helen Lindsay of R.R. 1 Bayfield and formerly \ of Goderich, has passed her Grade 5 violin with first class honors at the Western Ontario Con- servatory of Music. < Her teacher is Mrs. Marjorie Loft of St. Marys. +++ Stephen Sturdy is holding his Backyard Carnival for Muscular Dystrophy at 122 West Street this week, every afternoon from 1:30 to 4:30. You'll be contributing to a good cause at the same time. +++ Harbor report BY RON GRAHAM On July 21, the Algobay arrived light from Buffalo and cleared with salt on July 23 for Montreal. The. Agawa Canyon arrived light from Midland on July 25 and cleared with salt for Burns Harbour the same day. Civic Corner The Goderich Planning Board will meet Tuesday, .August 4 at 7 p.m. in the Assessment Office. A meeting about the Katimavik program will be held Wednesday, August 5 at 10 a.m. in the Assessment Office. The Landfill Site Com- mittee will meet Wednesday, August 5 at 7 p.m in the new Goderich Township Hall. The Huron County 'Plan- ning Board will meet Thursday, August 6 at 10 a.m. inthe council chambers of the Court House, Goderich. ANITA SHRIEK Anita Shrier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Shrier of Goderich, has received word from Neuchatel Junior College in Switzerland that she has attained an average of 80.3 in Grade 13 and has been named an Ontario Scholar. Anita spent her first four years of high school at. G.D.C.I. She has enrolled in the Business Administration course at the University of Western Ontario, Huron College campus. +++ Last week's front page story entitled 'Day Centre offers seniors daily outings' stated that most clients at the Centre are from.
