a bouquet of white roses and
lilac stephanotis.
Maid of honor was- Judy
Langridge of Goderich. She
wore a lilac gown with cape
styled jacket, and carried a
bouquet of yellow daisies and
lilac stephanotis.
Bridesmaids were Pam
Lougheed and Lisa Moore,
both of Toronto: They were
gowned the same as the
,maid of honor and icarried
• thesamebouquets..
Flower girl was Kristin
McGee `of Goderich. She
wore a lilac organdy dress
with white pinafore and
carried a basket of yellow
daisies and stephanotis.

Whitely of Goderich.
Guests were ushered into
the church by Allan Shelton
and Jerry Lobb, both of
Goderich.
Ringbearer was Joshua
Scott of London.
Following the wedding
ceremony, a reception was
held in Goderich Township.

Joe Clark visits Goderich
75 YEARS AGO
A few days since, a big bee
was held on the farm of
Thomas Hussey of Ashfield,
the gentleman who was
injured by shot wounds at the
charivari a few weeks ago
since in the township. There
were 14 mowers and many
men and some 60 tons of hay
were cut and barned in good
condition.
The annual garden party
of . St. George's Chur-
chwoman's Guild was., held
last Thursday on the
beautiful lawns of Mr. O.F.
Carey.
Charles C. Lee will in a few
days have his mammoth
double store ready, for
business.
William Brophey has been
promoted by the Grand
Trunk Railroad to the
position of boss mechanic in
connection with the many
new stations being erected.
The past two weeks the.
bathing house at the beach
has been well patronized.
The top Storey of the
elevator is now underway
and is being built with
cement, . the same as the
lower part.
25 YEARS AGO
The main 1956 program for
surface -treating and oiling
Goderich streets was
completed. Tuesday af-
ternoon, states Deputy -
Reeve E.C. Fisher, chair-
man of public works. There
is still a certain amount of
patching -and other 'repair
work to . be done here and
there in town.

to international .conference

La Leche League (LLL) in
Huron County - South has
been holding meetings in
Exeter this summer and will
continue through until
September at the home of
Dian e.Bankson Main Street.
This month the local
league will send three
delegates to hear health
leaders from around the
world speaking at the eighth
International Conference ` of
La Leche League in. Chicago
Illinois. La Leche is an
International Organization
which offers information and
encouragement to mothers
who want to breast-feed their
babies. -
La Leche League:
"Leading the Renaissance of
breast feeding for 25 years
the theme for this con-
ference, expresses the part
this organization has played
in "Bringing Back" breast
feeding as over 50 percent of
newborns are now being
breastfed.
The Three Day Con-
ference, featuring over 150
sessions, focusing on the
physical and emotional well
being of children, will be one
of the special events during
LLL's 25th anniversary

feeding" and Dr. Tony
Myers of Health and
Welfare, Canada, will speak
about "Every Child
Deserves the Best — A case
for Breastfeeding in the
Modern World."
La Leche League in Huron
County has been active for
over four years with three
groups and leaders in and
around the area. Informal
meetings are held in
member's homes monthly to
acquaint . those interested
with the • physical,
psychological and practical
aspects of breastfeeding and
the nursing relationship.
The Huron County Board
of Health can give anyone
interested dates of the next
meetings throughout the
County, in Goderich,
Belgrave and telephone
numbers of the leaders.
A drastic change in
passenger and mail service
to Goderich via CNR, loomed
here yesterday with The
receipt of a notice by railway
mail clerks on the Stratford-
Goderich run to be ready for
a move elsewhere. Railway
officials have told postal
authorities to prepare a
method other than trains for
delivering mailto the
Palmerston, Southampton,
Kincardine and Goderich
districts after September 30.
A 15 ton rock, big enough
to sink a ship, was hauled
from its dangerous resting
place in the channel leading
into Goderich harbor on
Sunday.
The recently formed
Goderich Pipe Band --first in
the town's long history—is
growing fast.
Largest attendance since
the Octogenarian Club was
formed eight years ago --
about 90 people over80 years
of age—thoroughly enjoyed
